Bego Faz Davalos – 20 points, 19 rebounds, 4 steals

On today's victory over San Jose State....
"I thought we had a little bit of a slow start. I knew that was going to happen, we are still trying to figure things out without Breanne in the lineup. We had a little taste of it in Wyoming, and I think everybody came back and worked hard. We knew that we would have an advantage inside, with both Bego and Emilie in the center. We wanted to take advantage of that, especially in the second half. Coming back out, we felt like we could really pound it in and open up the perimeter shooting. We saw what we can do from the three-point line. I think we got the jitters out in the first quarter. I thought we scraped back a little bit to close the score some when we were going into halftime. We were able to make a couple of adjustments and our kids were comfortable and got in a good rotation. Grabbing 50 rebounds is huge, and Bego having 19 of those is a really big deal, with nine of those being offensive. That really helped us tonight. Getting 15 assists is big, any time we have assists is a good thing. The more we can do that we, usually, have higher percentages. I am really proud of our kids for how they bounced back from the Wyoming game and I am excited to have two more games at home."
Junior center Bego Faz Davalos
On winning at home after losing on the road at Wyoming…
"We were told that we needed to step up. So, I think Kristina did a great job, Tory, Candice, and Kendra all did a great job. I thought this was a great team win. That is the win that we needed. We relied on each other and trusted each other. We needed it."
Senior guard Emilie Volk
On being back in the Save Mart Center…
"We have always had the intentions of giving our home fans a good game, and a good win. It was just an all around good team win. I felt like we had energy from the start, even though we kind of started slow. Bego was on me to keep believing and I just kept that in mind. I felt like we were all on the same page with what we needed to get out of the offense and it felt good."
On the third quarter momentum…
"Even in the locker room at halftime, we were calm and ready to come out and play. It was kind of a quiet confidence that we had."
