How It happened: The 'Dogs fell behind early 9-4, but went on a 15-0 run to finish the first quarter holding SDSU without a basket for final 7:45 of the frame as the Aztecs went 0-for-10 from the field. The 'Dogs opened up the second half on an 11-4 run to extend its lead to its largest of the game at 43-27 after a layup by Faz Davalos with 6:34 remaining in the third quarter. SDSU responded with an 8-2 run over the next four minutes which was bookended by 3-pointers from Ariell Bostick and Lexy Thorderson.
With Fresno State leading 48-37 heading into the final quarter, the Aztecs started the quarter on an 11-4 run to cut the 'Dogs down to four, but seven straight points from the 'Dogs put the Bulldogs back up 11 to close out the victory.

Bego Faz Davalos – 15 points, 11 rebounds

On tonight's matchup…
"I thought we did a great job in the first quarter. We defended well and held their team to only nine points in a quarter, and that is pretty good. We just went with the game plan. I thought Katelin Noyer came in and had some good minutes and got some good boards. We knew that it was going to be about rebounding so it was a little tricky out of the zone. Down the stretch there, we could feel our team dwindling but our kids stepped up and knocked down some free throws, took care of the ball, and played smart. I was proud of them for that. I think this was a good game to get those other games off of our backs. We are on a fresh start with a new beginning and we have got to tighten it up a little bit to beat Boise State."
On Fresno State's shooting…
"I thought we ran in transition pretty well, so we got a couple of layups out of that. We were recognizing where our shots were. We did a good job at trying to find that mid-range for our shots. Late in the game, it switched off on us. It is just about finding where the ball is, where the openings are, and where it is we need to go. We were getting late clocks, and it is all of a sudden a different shot when there is a late clock. There are obviously things we can work on that aren't so major. I thought that San Diego State did a good job with their defense late in the game and they pulled within five points. We finally drew some fouls, and that was nice to be able to get to the free throw line. If you are cooled off from the field, you have got to knock those free throws down."
On having six days before the next game…
"We have the game on Tuesday and we have our Senior Banquet on Monday. We will take tomorrow off and get refocused and really decide how bad we want it and how bad we want to work for it. I am excited about the break and our kids being able to catch up on school and get things done in that way. Especially knowing that we are going to be out of school for a whole week for the tournament, we have got to take care of that stuff while we can."
Bego Faz Davalos, junior center
On momentum gained from tonight's win...
"We know that the Mountain West Tournament is coming. We know we need to work together and put together a full 40 minutes. We need a good, fresh start and that is how we played today."
On her 17th double-double of the season…
"It is nice. It is all because of my teammates, though. My teammates see me open and they look for me."
Candice White, sophomore guard
On the team's shooting tonight...
"I think at the start of the game, we were passing it around a lot. We had a lot of good ball movement. We went through a little drought, but by the time the Mountain West Conference tournament comes along, we will be just fine."
