'Dogs continue MW play, traveling to face Cowgirls and Rams

FRESNO, Calif. – The Fresno State women's soccer team will go on the road for two Mountain West games, at Wyoming on Friday, Sept. 29 at 3 p.m. PT and at Colorado State on Sunday, Oct. 1 at 12 p.m. PT. Â

Last time – The Cowgirls defeated the 'Dogs 2-1 on Oct. 16, 2016 in Fresno, Calif. The last time the teams met in Wyoming, the Cowgirls shutout the 'Dogs 3-0 on Sept. 27, 2015. The all-time record between the two teams is in Wyoming's favor 3-2-1.
The 'Dogs shutout the Rams 2-0 in Fresno, Calif. on Oct. 14, 2016. The last time the two squads met in Colorado on Sept. 25, 2015, the match ended in a 2-2 tie. Fresno State leads the all-time series against Colorado State 3-0-1.
SCOUTING THE COWGIRLS
Wyoming is 5-4-1 (1-1 MW) this season, 4-0-1 at home.
The Cowgirls have owned the advantage over their opponents in goals (15-10) and shots (124-122). Wyoming's opponents have notched the advantage in saves (54-37) and corners (47-38).
This season there are eight Cowgirls with goals, seven with assists, 12 with points and 17 with shots.
Forward Brittney Stark has led the Wyoming this season with five goals, one assist, 11 points, and 23 shots. Goalkeeper Georgia Rowntree has played 10 games in the box for the Cowgirls, she has recorded 35 saves so far this season.
Reviewing last week— Wyoming posted a 1-1 week, with a win over Colorado College and an overtime loss against Air Force.
The Cowgirls defeated the Tigers 1-0 on Sept. 22. Wyoming owned the advantage over Colorado College in shots (12-9) and shots on goal (5-4). The teams each recorded four saves in the match. Colorado College recorded more corners (5-7). The match was won when Stark scored on a header in the 47th minute the goal was assisted by Jessie Gentle.
Wyoming lost to Air Force 1-0 in overtime on Sept. 24. The Cowgirls owned the advantage over the Falcons in shots (20-12) and shots on goal (12-4). The Falcons notched the advantage in saves (12-3) and corners (2-1). Air Force's Brooke Rittman ended the match when she scored a header in the 97th minute, assisted by Jillian Jamero and Taylor Cobb.
Last season – Wyoming finished the 2016 season with a 10-8-2 (6-4-1 MW) record. After finishing conference play tied for seventh place, the Cowgirls won the tiebreaker to become the sixth seed in the MW Tournament. The Cowgirl's season ended in the quarterfinals when San Diego State defeated Wyoming 2-1.

Colorado State is 2-4-4 (0-0-2 MW) this season, 2-1-1 at home.
The Rams have owned the advantage over their opponents in goals (15-11), assists (13-10) and saves (57-49). Colorado State's opponents have out-shot its opponents (165-137).
This season, there are 10 Cowgirls with goals, seven with assists, 11 with points and 21 with shots.
Forward Ally Murphy-Pauletto leads Wyoming's offense with three goals, one assist, seven points and 16 shots. Goalkeeper Hunter Peifer has played 10 games in the box for the Rams, she has recorded 44 saves this season.
Reviewing last week – Colorado State had a 0-0-2 week, with ties against Air Force and Colorado College.
The Rams and the Falcon's match on Sept. 22 ended in a 1-1 draw. The Falcons' out-shot the Rams (25-10), recorded more corners (6-0) and saves (5-4). Emma Shinsky scored the goal for the Rams, pushing it past the keeper on a 50/50 ball. Angela Karamanos of Air Force scored the equalizer when she headed the ball in off a corner kick from Kaylee Shalongo.
Colorado State and Colorado College's match on Sept. 24 ended in a scoreless draw. The Rams out-shot the Tigers (21-19) and recorded more corners (7-4). Both teams recorded six shots on goal and six saves during the contest.
Last season – Colorado State finished the 2016 season with a 3-14-2 (1-9- MW) record.
The Rams finished 12th in the MW last season, not advancing to the MW Tournament.
QUICK LOOK AT THE 'DOGS

Sophomore Julia Glaser leads Fresno State's offense with six goals, one assist, 13 points and 27 shots. Senior Myra Delgadillo has made a big impact this season with two goals, five assists, nine points and 20 shots. Junior goalkeeper Nicole Theroux has owned the goal box for Fresno State this season, she has notched 37 saves and recorded 832:04.
Reviewing last week – Fresno State had a 0-2 week, falling to Boise State 2-1 on Sept. 22 and Utah State 1-0 on Sept. 24.
The Broncos scored in the 18th minute of the match on a penalty kick to take a 1-0 lead. Anna Crawford scored her first collegiate goal in the 32nd minute to tie the game. Boise State scored the game-winning goal in the 78th minute of the contest, and Fresno State could not recover. Fresno State out-shot Boise State 14-13, recorded more corners 5-3 and notched more saves 6-4.
The Aggies scored the game-winning goal in the 8th minute of the contest. Fresno State owned the advantage in shots 17-7 and corners 6-2. Utah State recorded more saves 9-3.
In the record books – Two 'Dogs have left their mark in the program's record book this season. Delgadillo has moved up to No. 6 on the assists career leaders list (12), No. 9 on the goals career leaders list (17) and No. 9 on the points career leaders list (49). Theroux became No. 8 on the saves career leaders list with 83 career saves.
In terms of the Mountain West – Fresno State ranks second in the MW in points (47), goals (15), goals per game (1.50), assists (17) and assists per game (1.70). The 'Dogs also rank within the top three in corner kicks with 43 and within the top 10 in shots with 117 on the season.
Glaser ranks second in the MW in points (13), goals (6), goals per game (0.60) and game-winning goals (4). She is third in the MW in points per game with 1.30 and sixth in shots with 27. Delgadillo leads the MW in assists (5) and assists per game (0.56). Theroux ranks fourth in the MW in save percentage (.822), fifth in goals against average (0.87), sixth in saves (37) and seventh in saves per game (3.70).
Nationally speaking – Delgadillo ranks No. 25 in assists per game (.56) No. 32 in total assists (5).
