'Dogs fall to Mustangs 4-2

SAN LUIS OBISPO, Calif. – Fresno State fell to Cal Poly 4-2 on the road, Sunday afternoon.

The Bulldogs fall to 6-2 on the season, 0-2 on the road.

Doubles – Fresno State dropped the doubles point to Cal Poly, allowing the Mustangs to take a 1-0 lead into singles play.

At the No. 2 position, Cagatay Soke and Xander Veys were bested 6-3. Mantas Bugailiskis and Youssef Hassan fell at the No. 3 position 6-4, securing the doubles point for the Mustangs.

The match at the No. 1 position was left unjfinished.

Singles – Cal Poly took a 2-0 lead when Veys fell at the No. 1 position 6-4, 6-1.

The Mustangs extended their lead to 3-0 at the No. 4 position, when Jeremy Moser was bested 7-6, 6-2.

Soke put the Bulldogs on the board with a 6-4, 6-2 win at the No. 5 position. Cem Erturk took the win for Fresno State at the No. 5 position, defeating his opponent 6-0, 6-4.

The match was clinched at the No. 3 position when Derkas fell to his opponent in a three-set battle.
