FRESNO, Calif. – Nevada evened the season series with the Fresno State women's basketball team on Saturday afternoon at the Save Mart Center, as the Bulldogs fell 57-41, with both teams now stealing one on each other's court this season.
Nevada (10-15, 6-8 MW) raced out to a 22-6 lead in the first quarter and never looked back on an afternoon the Bulldogs could not get their offense rolling. Scoring at least 70 points in their last four games, and shooting a season-high 58.2 percent from the field at Air Force on Wednesday, the 'Dogs (17-9, 10-5 MW) shot just 26.4 percent from the field which included going 2-of-21 from the 3-point line (9.5 percent).
Candice White led the Bulldogs in scoring with 16 points and chipped in six rebounds, two assists and one steal.
With its fifth Mountain West loss, it was Fresno State's first loss to a conference opponent beneath them in the league standings as their previous defeats were surrendered to Boise State (2x), Wyoming and New Mexico.
