STOCKTON, Calif. – The Fresno State men's tennis team won the 2019 Pacific Mountain Invitational after defeating Hawai'i 4-1 and Pacific 4-0, Sunday evening.
"It was a crazy weekend with the weather and it created a different type of atmosphere," said head coach Luke Shields. "We could only play on two courts at a time, so it made for a really long day. Our guys did a great job keeping their composure and staying focused all day. This is exactly what we needed, it is huge for our confidence. Angus (Bradshaw) had a really big break through today, winning two big matches. It was fitting to have Cem (Erturk) clinch in the final after a great week of practice for him. This is our first Pacific Mountain title. We will be hosting the invitational next year, so hope to keep the trophy in Fresno."
Fresno State improves to 7-7 (1-0 MW), snapping a five-match skid.
