Bulldogs knock-off No. 44 Auburn, fall to No. 21 Texas Tech on final day at Blue Gray National Tennis Classic

MONTGOMERY, Ala. — Fresno State's men's tennis team beat No. 44 Auburn 4-2 to , but lost to No. 21 Texas Tech 4-0 in the championship match of the consolation bracket at the Blue Gray National Tennis Classic. The Bulldogs finished the weekend 1-2 with a win over Auburn and losses to Top 25 teams in Ole Miss and Texas Tech.
Singles - vs. Auburn
After Fresno State won the doubles point yesterday before play was suspended, Auburn won two straight singles matches to jump out to a quick lead.
However these would be the only points for the Tigers as Daniel Baturyn won at the No. 6 position 6-2, 6-1. Zdenek Derkas followed at the No. 1 spot 6-3, 6-3, 5-1, and Alexey Aleschev's win at No. 3 to clinched the win for the Bulldogs.
Doubles - vs. Texas Tech
Texas Tech swept the Bulldogs in doubles play, winning first at the No. 2 spot against the pairing of Baturyn/Derkas 6-1, and then at the No. 3 spot 6-2 against Henrique Osorio/Baturyn.
Singles - vs. Texas Tech
It only took the Red Raiders three matches in singles play to seal the win. Texas Tech picked up straight-set wins at No. 1, No. 2 and No. 4.
