The 5-foot-4 guard was the 1986-87 Fresno State co-Female Athlete of the Year and team Most Valuable Player, led the Bulldogs to what was at the time the four winningest seasons in school history, including three consecutive 20-win seasons and a final 1986-87 record of 22-8.
- Martell ranks fifth on the program's career points list with 1,595. She is also among the top-five all-time in assists (480) and steals (224).

Fresno State is one of only two teams nationally to currently hold a 11-0 record in conference play along with Gonzaga.
Â
The streak                                                                                                                                                          Â
Fresno State is currently leading the Mountain West with a 10-game win streak. It is the tied for the fourth-longest streak in program history.
- Fresno State's longest streaks in its history are 19 (2009-10), 13 (2014-15), 12 (2011-12) and 10 (2010-11).
Â
A win is a win                                                                                                                                                   Â
With five new players inserted into this year's squad, the Bulldogs saw few games early in the season that were close, with only one game being decided by less than 10 points in the first month. After a six-point win in the conference opener at UNLV, Fresno State's young group has grown up quick, winning seven more single-digit games since Jan. 4.
- The Bulldogs have won four of their seven games by five points or less.
Â
Rope-a-dope                                                                                                                                                    Â
Four times in the last eight games, Fresno State opponents have thought they had the Bulldogs put away heading into the fourth quarter. Trailing for the majority of games against at San Jose State, at Boise State and twice against New Mexico, the 'Dogs have awoken for fourth-quarter explosions to turn double-digit deficits into dramatic wins. In those four games, Fresno State scored shot no less than 50 percent from the field and scored no less than 24 points in the final period with highs of 66.7 percent and 35 points against the Broncos.
- In the four comebacks, Fresno State shot a combined 56.9 percent from the floor (37-of-65) and 48.0 percent from 3 (12-of-25).
Â
A special trio                                                                                                                                                    Â
No team in the country can claim to have three players rank in the top four in scoring in its conference, except Fresno State. The Bulldogs' trio of Haley Cavinder (2nd - 16.5), Hanna Cavinder (4th - 15.3) and Maddi Utti (2nd - 16.5) rank two through four in the Mountain West in scoring.
- Fresno State is one of three teams in the country, along with Oregon and UConn, to have three players average at least 15 points per game.
- In 13 of Fresno State's 22 games, the trio of Maddi Utti, Hanna Cavinder and Haley Cavinder have been the Bulldogs' top three scorers.
- Fresno State is 11-2 when the trio are the team's top three scorers.
- The three have combined for more 20-point games than any other team in the league (21).
Â
They're explosive                                                                                                                                           Â
When any of the Bulldogs' top three scorers makes a couple shots in a row, look out. While no other player on the team has scored 10 points in a quarter, the trio has combined to do it 15 times.
- Haley Cavinder has scored at least 10 points in a period a team-best seven times. Hanna Cavinder has five. Maddi Utti has three.
- Haley has posted a team-high 14 points in a quarter at New Mexico which included a 10-0 run by herself in 63 seconds.
Â
Don't forget about me                                                                                                                                 Â
While much of the attention this season has gone to Fresno State's top three scorers, Aly Gamez has been the straw that's stirred the drink, doing the little things while also producing one clutch shot after another in recent weeks. Since returning to court on Jan. 1 after a three-week absence in December to get ready for the conference slate, Gamez has averaged 11.0 points, 5.9 rebounds and 4.1Â assists in the last nine games
-A flair for the dramatics, Gamez hit a game-winning buzzer beater against Colorado State (Jan. 22) and connected on a go-ahead 3-pointer with 52 seconds remaining at New Mexico.
- An X-factor this season after being the Bulldogs' No. 3 option last year, the Bulldogs are 9-0 this season when Gamez reaches double figures scoring.
- Gamez has recorded a season-best 16 points three times, once in her second game back in the starting lineup at San Jose State (Jan. 4) and again in back-to-back games versus Air Force (Jan. 29) and New Mexico (Feb. 1).
