'Dogs open Golden Coast Invitational with 4-2 win over Saint Mary's

FRESNO, Calif. — The Fresno State men's tennis team won their first match in the Golden Coast Invitational. The Bulldogs are set to finish the tournament tomorrow with their second match against host Sacramento State.
Fresno State improves to 9-2 overall, with seven consecutive wins heading into Day 2 of the tournament.
How It Happened
Doubles
The 'Dogs had a rough start to the match with doubles play, losing two of three matches to give up the point to the Gaels. The first doubles match was a win for Fresno State with Alexey Aleschev and Reece Falck taking the No. 3 match, 6-2.
The first loss came at the No. 1 spot when the Gaels' James Watt and Boris Reckow defeated Fresno State's pairing of Angus Bradshaw and Aleksandr Myagkov, 6-4.
The 'Dogs dropped the point when SMC's Fabian Rosendorf and Damon Kesaris took down Dario Huber and Zdenek Derkas at the No. 2 spot, 7-6.
Singles
In singles play, Fresno State fell at the No. 1 spot to open things up, with the Derkas losing to No. 23 Damon Kesaris 6-1, 6-0.
However, the Bulldogs claimed the next four singles matches to win the dual. The first coming with Huber winning at the No. 2 spot, 6-4, 6-4, followed by Bradshaw at the No. 3 spot, 6-0, 6-3. Bradshaw's victory puts him at 10-0 overall this season in singles play.
Osorio took the next singles win at the No. 6 spot with a 6-4, 6-0 victory. Myagkov clinched the match for the 'Dogs with a No. 4 spot win 6-4, 6-2.
