Prior to playing a defensive-minded Air Force team, Fresno State's offense had been clicking on all cylinders. During the six-game stretch leading up to the Falcons, the Bulldogs had dropped at least 90 points four times. Three of those came in three straight games. It was the first time in program history that a Bulldog team has accomplished that feat. That run had brought Fresno State's season total to seven with four coming against Mountain West opponents. Only two other teams in the MW have recorded a 90-point game in conference (Colorado State vs. Utah State, New Mexico vs. Utah State twice).
- Fresno State had scored at least 90 points in six games during Jaime White's previous six seasons with the Bulldogs.
- During the previous eight seasons, Fresno State had only reached 90 points against Mountain West opponents three times.
- All seven of Fresno State's 90-point games have come against Division I opponents. The other 10 teams in the Mountain West have combined to post five 90-point games against DI competition.
Â
Calm with the ball                                                                                                                                  Â
With all three of its primary ballhandlers back, Fresno State's offensive engine was expected to stay in high gear. Last year the Bulldogs' broke program records for least turnovers per game with 12.1 (13.7 - 2017-18) and assist/turnover ratio of 1.30 (1.11 - 2011-12). Â
Let it rain                                                                                                                                                    Â

Â
Socially distant defense                                                                                                                      Â

Â
All heart                                                                                                                                                      Â
At 5-foot-6, Haley Cavinder is not only pound-for-pound one of the best rebounders in the Mountain West, pulling down 7.7 per game for third-best in the league, she is one of the best in the nation. Cavinder is one of 15 players nationally under 5-foot-10 to average at least 7.0 rebounds per game. Of those 15, only Cavinder is listed at 5-foot-6 or shorter.  - Cavinder has grabbed at least eight rebounds 11 times this season.
Â
 Bucket getter                                                                                                                                           Â
One of six returning All-Mountain West players from a season ago, Hanna Cavinder was the odd one out on this year's five-member preseason team and she has been in attack mode from the start of the season to prove that it was a mistake. The sophomore finished the season averaging 17.5 ppg, second to only her sister.
- Cavinder has reached double digits in 21 of 23 games, hitting the 20-point mark eight times.
- In the season finale against UNLV, the sophomore scored a career-high 32 points on 13-of-20 shooting.
- With the fourth-most field goal attempts in the league (336), Cavinder ranks third in field goal percentage at 47.3 percent, 4.2 percent higher than any other player who had taken at least 200 attempts.
Â
More than a bucket                                                                                                                                                                        Â
While scoring is where she does her most of her damage, routinely making plays that would make Houdini do a double take, Hanna Cavinder is also a crafty passer on the offensive end is a pest on the defensive end.
 - Cavinder has led the team led the team in assists in 11 games and steals seven times.
- The sophomore ranks eighth in the MW in assists (3.7) and ninth in steals (1.6) per game.
Â
A pretty good third option                                                                                                                 Â
While Maddi Utti was the 2020 MW Player of the Year, and for good reason, the preseason player of the year has been hampered all year with a shoulder injury. Despite the injury, Utti has still put her versatility on display all year and it didn't go unnoticed by coaches as she earned Mountain West honorable mention.
Â
The senior finished league play as one of only two players to rank in the top 16 in the league in scoring (12.2 ppg), rebounding (7.0 rpg) and assists (2.7 apg).
