Bulldogs down Aztecs 4-1 in San Diego

SAN DIEGO – Fresno State opened up its final road weekend with a win over San Diego State. The Bulldogs earned their third-straight conference win with the 4-1 victory as they gear up to take on UNLV on Sunday.
Fresno State moved to 15-3 overall on the year, 4-1 in Mountain West play.
Doubles
The Bulldogs found success early in doubles with wins at the No. 1 and No. 2 spots. The first of these wins came at No. 1 from the pairing of Zdenek Derkas and Angus Brashaw (6-3).
Shortly after Aleksandr Myagkov and Dario Huber clinched the point for Fresno State taking the No. 2 position 6-4.
Singles
Despite taking the doubles point the Aztecs opened singles play with a win, taking the No. 5 spot with Rafael Gonzalez taking down the 'Dogs Alexey Aleschev 6-4, 7-6 (1).
Despite the singles loss Fresno State earned victories at the next three matchups to finish, with the first coming from Myagkov at the No. 4 spot, 6-4, 7-5.
Derkas took the next win at No. 1, defeating Johannes Seeman 6-4, 7-6 (9). Dario Huber clinched his third-straight match for Fresno State with a win at the No. 2 position, 7-5, 3-6, 6-3.

The 'Dogs head to Las Vegas for a Sunday matchup against UNLV. First serve is set for 11 a.m. PT.
