FRESNO, Calif. – Fresno State rebounded from its first conference defeat, returning home on Friday afternoon to dispatch Utah State 4-1 at Spalding G. Wathen Tennis Center. The Bulldogs moved to 13-3 overall on the year, 2-1 in Mountain West play.

Doubles
The Bulldogs and Aggies split on Court 1 and 2. The 'Dogs first claimed a 6-1 win at No. 2 behind Aleksandr Myagkov and Dario Huber before Felipe Acosta and Javier Ruiz responded for Utah State at No. 1 with a 6-2 win.

Trailing early in their match at No. 3, Reece Falck and Henrique Osorio turned it on late to force a tiebreak against Jack Ninteman and Roko Savin. The Bulldog duo claimed the breaker 7-3.

Singles
That momentum carried over to singles play where the Bulldogs won four of six first sets. Alexey Aleschev was the first off the courts, cruising at No. 5 with a 6-4, 6-1 defeat of Javier Ruiz. Following a tough 7-5 opening set, Myagkov was next off with a decisive 6-2 second set to put the 'Dogs up 3-0.

After Utah State got on the board at the No. 6 position, Huber and Zdenek Derkas were both on the verge of ending the match. As Derkas headed into a second-set tiebreaker, Huber won three straight games to top Souf El Mashabi, 6-4, 7-5 and end the dual.
