RETURNING TO THE COURT
When the Bulldogs hit the court on Jan. 13 in San Jose, the 'Dogs will have gone 12 days without a game, having last played on Dec. 31. Due to health and safety protocols, Fresno State has seen three games postponed (Jan. 3, 6, 9). Â
With seven players unavailable on Dec. 31 due to health and safety protocols, Fresno State played suited seven up for the team's last game of 2021. Against San Diego State, which saw the majority of its roster available and played 11, the Bulldogs walked away with a 73-67 win.
In the last eight seasons, Fresno State had not lost back-to-back games to start Mountain West play. The 'Dogs have dropped their conference opener three times, regrouping to tightly contested games on short turnarounds. That trend continued to open conference play this year. A loss in the 2021-22 MW opener to UNLV led a six-point win over San Diego State three days later.

THE BREAKDOWN
- The Bulldogs return to the court on Jan. 13 following postponements of their last three games.
- After a postponement to its fourth straight game, a contest with Nevada which was scheduled for Jan. 13, Fresno State replaced it with its previously postponed game at San Jose State for Thursday.Â
- It will be the first of two games in three days against the Spartans as SJSU was already set to visit the Central Valley on Jan. 15.
- Fresno State and San Jose State have not met since the Bulldogs' 94-68 semifinal win in 2020.
- All of Fresno State's wins this year have come when scoring at least 70 points (5-2).
- Fresno State ranks No. 3Â nationally in turnovers per game, committing just 11.2Â per game.
- Haley Cavinder has led the Bulldogs in assists 11 times, rebounding 10 times and scoring nine times. She is the only player in the country averaging at least 18 points, 9 rebounds and 5 assists per game.
- Cavinder leads all active Division I point guards in career rebounds with 566, doing so in 73 games.

- The Bulldogs also had a fourth game, their original game on Jan. 13 postponed (vs. Nevada) but rescheduled its first postponement of the season with San Jose State in its place.
- The 12-day layoff is Fresno State's longest of the season.

- Grabbing their first lead with less than 90 seconds in the second quarter, the Bulldogs led for nearly all of the second half.
- Haley Cavinder (24), Hanna Cavinder (20) and Wytalla Motta (17) combined to score 61 points. Haley and Motta each recorded a double-double, the first time since Dec. 4, 2020 that a Bulldog duo had done that in the same game.Â

- The 'Dogs defeated Nevada in 2015 by one and Air Force in 2017 by six on two days rest, and Colorado State in 2020 by four on less than 24 hours rest. The first two came on the road while the win over CSU was at home.
SCOUTING SAN JOSE STATE
- San Jose State enters this week with a 3-10 overall record and is 0-2 in Mountain West play.
- Following a postponement in their MW opener, the Spartans were defeated 83-48 in San Jose on New Year's Eve. They then did not play until Jan. 9 following postponements from Fresno State and Wyoming.
- SJSU last played on Jan. 9, a 90-64 loss at Colorado State.
- On the year, the Spartans have been outscored by an average of 17 points per game and are being outrebounded by nearly eight per game.
- Shooting 34.3 percent from the field, defensively the Spartans are allowing teams to convert at a 45.0 percent clip.
- Senior Cydni Lewis is pacing SJSU in with 12.9 points and 7.7 rebounds per game.
- Junior Ella Ogier, sister of former Bulldog Genna Ogier, is the Spartans' second-leading scorer at 10.1 per game.
UPDATED SAVE MART CENTER GAME DAY INFORMATION
- Based on public health guidelines, all Save Mart Center attendees must be fully vaccinated OR have obtained a negative COVID-19 test (persons 3 years and older).
- Masks will be required for all indoor areas. At the Save Mart Center, masks will be required at all times, with exception for when actively eating or drinking.
- For non-vaccinated guests 3 years or older, proof of a negative PCR test will be required within 2 days of the event ORÂ an antigen test within 1 day of the event.Â
- Guests will need to show the negative results of their tests, or show proof of full vaccination at one of the tents outside of the arena prior to entry.Â
