'Dogs shutout Cowboys on Senior Night

FRESNO, Calif. - Fresno State defeated Wyoming 30-0 at Valley Children's Stadium for Senior Day on Friday Night, improving to 5-1 at home this season. The Bulldogs close out the regular season with an 8-4 record with a 7-1 mark in Mountain West play.
The Bulldogs' defense held its opponent scoreless for the first time this season, and its first time since holding Wyoming scoreless on Oct. 16, 2021.
How It Happened
Receiving the ball to start the game, the 'Dogs offense got started quickly on Friday going on a five-play, 66-yard drive keyed by three passes of 15-plus yards from Haener and a pass interference penalty on a play intended for Nikko Remigio. One play later, a four-yard rush by Jordan Mims was punched in the end zone to give the 'Dogs an early 7-0 lead.
A partially blocked punt by Mac Dalena gave the 'Dogs the ball in Wyoming territory at their 41 and the 'Dogs capitalized marching down the field for an eight-play, 41-yard drive giving Fresno State a 14-0 lead. Facing a third-and-six at the Wyoming 37, Haener found Remigio for a 13-yard gain and a first down and four plays later, Haener again connected with Remigio, this time for a six-yard touchdown pass.
With a near pick from cornerback Carlton Johnson on the Cowboys' next drive, a blocked punt from Evan Williams for a safety pushed the 'Dogs in front, 16-0.
Receiving a free kick from Wyoming at their own 23-yard line, Malik Sherrod speed down the field 50 yards down to the Wyoming 27, putting the 'Dogs in prime position to extend their lead.
The Bulldogs did just that going on a six-play drive that ended with Mims' second rushing score of the night as the senior punched it in from two yards out for a 23-0 lead.
The 'Dogs added a touchdown in the third quarter set up by an interception by Malachi Langley that he brought down to the Wyoming four-yard line. Two plays later, Mims punched in his third score of the night to give the Bulldogs a 30-0 lead going on to win by that final margin.
