'Dogs hustle past Rebels in 10-1 win

FRESNO, Calif. – The Fresno State baseball team rocked another multiple home run game to beat the UNLV Rebels 10-1 at Pete Beiden Field at Bob Bennett Stadium on Friday afternoon.

The Bulldogs are still holding on to their spot in fourth place in the Mountain West standings as they advance to 26-24 (15-14 MW) and the Rebels fall to 19-28 (10-16 MW).

NOTES:

This is the second time this season that Fresno State has defeated a team by a nine-run differential.
Starting pitcher Roman Angelo pitched his first career complete game, adding a career-high 10 strikeouts to his resume while only allowing three hits and one walk.
Grady Morgan went deep in back-to-back at-bats for the first time in his Bulldog career.

HOW IT HAPPENED:
Grady Morgan crushed a solo shot to right field on the first swing of the game, and followed with another in the second inning, accompanied by RBIs from Ben Newton, Tyler Davis and Travis Welker to give the 'Dogs an early 6-0 lead.

A sacrifice fly brought in the Rebels' only run of the afternoon in the fourth inning, but the Bulldogs battled back with three hits in the bottom of the inning to score two more runs.

Fresno State capped off the evening with back-to-back home runs in the seventh to bring the final score to 10-1 in favor of the Diamond 'Dogs.

UP NEXT: The Diamond 'Dogs will look for a season sweep over the UNLV Rebels as they close out the series on Sunday at 1:05 pm PT.
