LAS VEGAS – The Fresno State baseball team faced a tough evening in Las Vegas, falling to the UNLV Rebels 9-0. The Bulldogs struggled to find any rhythm at the plate as UNLV pitchers combined to throw a no-hitter.
The game began on a challenging note for Fresno State, as the Rebels put up two runs in the first inning off starter Jack Anker. UNLV continued to add to their lead, scoring in the second, third, and fourth innings to build a commanding 5-0 advantage. The Bulldogs couldn't quiet the Rebels' bats, which racked up 16 hits, including a home run and multiple doubles.
Fresno State's offense couldn't get going, with only four baserunners reaching on walks throughout the game. The Bulldogs' pitching staff, including relievers Bryce Armstrong and BJ Rodriguez, worked hard to limit further damage, but a three-run seventh inning by UNLV sealed the outcome.
