Walker, Yeast enter Top 10 at Cal Invitational

BERKELEY, Calif. - The Fresno State track and field team spent the weekend in the Bay Area at the Cal Invitational.

On Friday, the Bulldog hammer throw duo of Zoe Yeast and Tearra Haney took third and sixth, respectively, in the event. Yeast threw for a personal-best mark of 60.40m/198-2, the ninth-furthest throw in program history. She hit the mark on her first throw of the day.

Haney had a mark of 51.05m/167-6, a season-high for the senior. Haney also took second in the javelin on Saturday, tossing a mark of 45.42m/149-9.

On Saturday, Rhiannon Walker won the 3000m steeplechase in a time of 10:47.62. She had the fifth-fastest time in program history, and the fastest time by a Bulldog since 2013. Kylie Ward took third (11:18.40) and Hannah Garrity took fourth (11:59.24).

Jabari King continued to do well in the long jump this season, taking second with a season-best jump of 7.40m/24-3.5.

Chiara Pedol earned a Top 10 finish in the 1500 run, clocking a time of 4:34.22 to finish ninth. Her time on Saturday was a personal-best and just .11 seconds away from a Top 10 mark in program history. Hannah Pacheco finished 12th in the race with a time of 4:36.05.

Joziah Hagedorn took third in the men's 400 dash in 49.05. He also saw a season-best on Saturday.

In the women's 800 run, Nayla Martin finished third in 2:11.73. It was a personal-best for the first-year Bulldog and just one second off of making the Top 10 all-time.
