King of the jumps
Fresno State junior Jabari King enters his third season as a Bulldog. He won the long jump at his first collegiate meet at the 2024 Sunbird Invitational as a freshman, and did it again in 2026. King is chasing his personal-best mark that he set in that 2024 season with a jump of 7.48m/24-6.5 at the Mountain West Championships. That season, he placed fourth at the championships.
Back in action
After redshirting the outdoor season in 2025, senior Zoe Yeast is set to make her return to the hammer throw. Yeast, who is in her second season as a Bulldog after transferring from Louisville, earned indoor All-Mountain West honors in the weight throw last indoor season. She had the third-farthest throw in program history, and finished in the top four in all six meets she competed in.
This weekend, she competes in her first outdoor event as a Bulldog as she is set to throw in the hammer throw on Friday.
The outdoor record book
Taking a look at the outdoor records and where members of the current Bulldogs stand in the program's all-time Top 10, four current members look to better their Top 10 marks.
Liz Tarczy has the program's No. 2 high jump at six-feet, set last season. Tarczy eyes the program record that hasn't been touched since 1987. In the long jump, Janae Heffernan sits at No. 5 with a mark of 6.18m/20-3.5 also set a season ago. Ella Spaulding has the No. 2 score in the heptathlon with 5,551 points at the MW Championships last season.
