2020 (Junior): Gentry appeared in nine games in the 'Dogs COVID-19 shortened season ... made his first career start against Columbia in the second game of a doubleheader on Feb. 29 ... hit .250 from the plate ... collected three in 12 at-bats ... scored two runs and drove in two RBI ... laced his first triple and added a run & RBI vs. Columbia (March 1) ... drew one walk and slugged .417 ... added a single and scored a run in a 13-0 win over Cal Poly (Feb. 25) ... also added a single and RBI at No. 10 Arizona State (March 7) ... earned Academic All-MW honors.
Prior to Fresno State: Went to Orange Coast College in Costa Mesa in 2018 & 2019... appeared in 41 games as a sophomore hitting .360 from the plate with two home runs, 14 doubles, two triples, 19 runs, 37 RBI, two stolen bases, 50 hits, .400 on-base percentage and a .532 slugging percentage... earned First-Team CCCAA honors while OCC went 39-9-1 winning the Orange Empire division with a 16-5 mark... played in 35 games as a freshman in 2018 recording a .342 average from the plate with nine extra-base hits (one home run, five doubles, three triples), 14 runs, 20 RBI, 25 hits, 11 walks, .411 on-base percentage and a .534 slugging percentage.
High School: Attended Claremont High School where he was a 2017 graduate... four-year letter winner for the Wolfpack... earned First-Team Palomares All-League honors... played in 98 games in his prep career... appeared in 27 games as a senior in 2017 hitting .418 from the plate with 33 hits in 79 at-bats... totaled 10 doubles, 15 RBI and 15 runs scored... appeared in 24 games as a junior hitting .370 from the dish while seeing action in 21 games as a sophomore and 26 games as a freshman.
