2018 (Junior): Enjoyed a breakout junior season for the Diamond 'Dogs in 2018 starting all 54 games at second base... hit .340 from the plate, a mark good enough for 13th in the MW.... ranked second on the team in hits (70), runs scored (39) while being one of three 'Dogs to lead the club with 39 RBIs.... entered the season with only two career home runs before smacking nine in 2018 to tie for sixth-most in the Mountain West and after only stealing one career base prior to the season, swiped 12 on the season for the fourth-most in the conference... led the 'Dogs with 112 total bases and ranked second with 19 walks while defensively he had a team-high 154 assists... selected by the Detroit Tigers in the eighth round of the 2018 MLB Draft and became the highest drafted infielder for the Diamond 'Dogs since third baseman Tommy Medonca was selected in the second round of the 2009 MLB Draft by the Texas Rangers.
2017 (Sophomore): Burks appeared in 29 games as a sophomore making eight starts... made three starts at shortstop, two in left field, two at second base and one at designated hitter... hit .196 from the dish with nine hits in 46 at-bats... tallied a double and a home run, drove in three RBIs and scored five runs... had a .283 slugging percentage and a .302 on-base percentage... hit a three-run home run in the 'Dogs 9-2 regular season finale vs. Gonzaga.
2016 (Freshman): Burks appeared in 33 games as a freshman making 20 starts... started 12 games at shortstop, four at second base and four in left field... hit .188 from the plate finishing the season with 12 hits, including three doubles and a home run... totaled seven runs and eight RBIs... had one stolen base at #3 Texas A&M (Mar. 11)... had a season-high two hits in the first game of a doubleheader sweep over Youngstown State (Feb. 27) ... hit a three-run home run in a 9-5 win over Cal Poly (May 10).
High School: Attended William C. Wood High School in Vacaville, Calif... was a three-year letter winner on the diamond playing shortstop for the Wildcats... hit .303 from the dish with 23 hits, six doubles, 16 runs scored and six RBI's in 24 games as a sophomore... also hit .283 as a junior and .228 as a senior... was a member of the Oakland Athletics Area Code Team in 2014.
