High School: Veloz was a 2017 graduate of Cathedral High School in Los Angeles... ranked as the 11th-best catcher in California in the 2017 class by Perfect Game... was named a 2016 Perfect Game Underclass All-American... also earned 2016 SoCal Scout League All Star honors... was named the 2016 Defensive Player of Year... earned All-Del Rey League honors three times... was named the Cathedral High School Team MVP in 2016... named a captain for two years... was a 3-time Honor Roll member academically... hit .414 from the dish as a senior with 12 doubles, two triples and a home run while tallying 24 hits in 58 at-bats.
