2017 (Junior): Made 19 appearances on the mound as a junior making 13 starts... finished seventh in the Mountain West in innings pitched (88.1) and strikeouts (68)... posted a 3-6 overall record with a 5.30 ERA (10th in the MW)... notched two saves near the end of the season against New Mexico (May 14) and at San Diego State (May 20)... tossed a complete game in the Mountain West Tournament throwing seven innings allowing six hits, one run and struck out one in a 12-1 win over SDSU (May 27)... made eight starts of six or more innings... struck out at least one batter in all 19 appearances and had six outings with six-plus strikeouts... held opponents to a .295 batting average ranking 11th in the MW... Academic All-MW honoree for a third straight season.
2016 (Sophomore): Earned second-team All-MW honors as a sophomore... appeared in 26 games on the mound with 25 coming in relief and made one start against Pacific (Apr. 12)... went 4-1 with a 4.54 ERA and converted four saves on the year... in 12 appearances in Mountain West play, went 1-0 with a 0.45 ERA and picked up all four saves against MW foes (Air Force twice, San Diego State and San Jose State)... tossed 39.2 innings and notched 42 strikeouts... held opponents to a .271 batting average.... had a season-high four strikeouts on three occasions at Texas A&M (Mar. 13), UNLV (Mar. 20) and San Jose State (Apr. 23)... only surrendered an earned run in seven appearances... named Academic All-Mountain West.
2015 (Freshman): Appeared in 15 games on the mound for the 'Dogs as a freshman... tossed 16.1 innings posting an 0-2 record with a 7.71 ERA... notched 12 strikeouts, including a season-high three in his first appearance of the season against Cal Poly... threw a season-high 2.1 innings, including a pair of strikeouts, in a 6-3 win at home over San Jose State on Mar. 22.. named Academic All-Mountain West... also earned Mountain West Scholar-Athlete honors.
High School: Three-year letterwinner for coach Brandon Asher at River Valley High in Yuba City, Calif. ... led his team during senior year to a 20-win season in which he was 9-2 on the mound with a 1.15 ERA with 96 strikeouts ... struck out 176 batters over his junior and senior seasons ... was a All-Tri County League player junior and senior season and was also named All-Area both years.
Personal: Was born in Walnut Creek, Calif., to his parents Donna Brown and Mark Ramirez ... has one brother, Nico, and three sisters, Angel, Chloe and Francesca ... enjoys going to the movies and going to Naco Taco with his closest friends back home ... favorite athlete is Roy Halladay because he mastered the art of pitching and competes 100 percent of the time ... chose to come to Fresno State because it was the best fit for him and gave him a chance to play Division I baseball while enhancing his education ... undecided on major at Fresno State.
