2020 (R-FRESHMAN): Appeared in all six games this season … had five tackles on the year … also had 0.5 TFL against New Mexico (Dec. 12) … had a broken up pass against Colorado State (Oct. 29) … had a season-high two tackles against Hawai’i (Oct. 24).
2019 (FRESHMAN): Appeared in four games as a true freshman … picked up four tackles (two solo) at San Diego State (Nov. 15) … utilized a redshirt season under the NCAA four game rule.
HIGH SCHOOL: Recorded 85 tackles, 71 solo, in 2018 as Bishop Amat finished 9-2 overall and 5-0 in the Mission League ... grabbed two interceptions and had two fumble recoveries during senior year ... both of Jarvis’ INTs came against Cathedral, returning one for touchdown ... three-star recruit according to 247sports and ESPN … was a All-State and All-Conference selection … carried a 3.0 cumulative GPA, received honors … volunteered with church events.
PERSONAL: Born in West Covina, Calif. … son of Sean and Meelisa Jarvis … has two older sisters - Leeann and Brianna … biggest athletic thrill is getting a pick six … was also recruited by Boise State, San Diego State and UNLV … chose to be a Bulldog because it was the best fit for his future … is a business administration major.
Head Coach’s remark on Jarvis...
“Excited to bring in another DB from Bishop Amat HS where we signed Chris Gaston from a couple years ago. Deven had his junior season cut short due to a broken foot but we felt like he had shown enough. Really liked his length and tackling ability, offered him over the spring and he committed on an unofficial visit in July. Won his league’s defensive player of the year award his senior season, can’t wait to see what he can do at our free safety position.”
