2018 (Senior): Played in all 14 games and made starts at left guard in the final nine games of the season … helped lead an offensive line unit that saw the offense produce 2,161 yards on the ground for 31 touchdowns and 3,740 yards through the air – the most since 2013 – for 26 touchdowns over the course of the season … the offense produced 421.5 yards per game and 34.6 points per game … the unit held six opponents without a sack over the season’s 14 games … the unit ranked sixth in the FBS in sacks allowed per game (0.86) and ranked fifth in the FBS in tackles for loss allowed per game (3.86) ... named to the Fall Academic All-Mountain West team.
2017 (Junior): Did not see any game action.
2016 (Sophomore): Played in 11 games, including six-straight starts to close the season … helped lead a rushing attack that gained 1,394 yards on the ground, led by starting running back Dontel James’ 697 yards … blocked for a passing game that produced 2,557 yards through the air ... the starting line unit limited opponents to 2.58 sacks per game … started five games at left guard and one game at tight end... earned Academic All-Mountain West honors.
Prior to Fresno State: Attended Victor Valley Junior College, playing tackle on its offensive line that produced a 6-4 season … Southern California Football Association – American Division | Mountain League – second-team offense selection … Victor Valley produced the third-most yards per game (484.0) in the SCFA … left for Fresno State after one season in the summer of 2016.
High School: Played tackle and defensive end and was on the state champion wrestling team (220 lbs.) at Green Valley High School … All-Southeast League second-team defense (DE) – same league that teammates Nela Otukolo (Gorman) and Robert Stanley (Gorman) played in.
Personal: Son of Tina Carcione and Doug Hughes ... majoring in anthropology.
