Marianne Jodoin named Fresno State Athlete of the Week

Marianne Jodoin, a freshman helped Fresno State earn the 2011 Western Athletic Conference tournament championship over Boise State. Jodoin is currently ranked No. 58 in singles in the country. Jodoin and partner Laura Pola went three for three in doubles competition, assisting the Dogs the upper hand in each match with the doubles point. The victories kept coming as Jodoin went three for three in singles, each match being a straight set victory over La Tech, Nevada and Boise State's top player. The WAC announced Jodoin as Freshman and WAC Player of the year at the conferences banquet last weekend. She was also named first team All-WAC in singles and first team All-WAC in doubles with partner Pola. Jodoin was part of the All Tournament Team in singles and doubles. Jodoin was also named Verizon WAC Tennis Players of the Week three times this season. Fresno State drew Notre Dame for the first round of the NCAA Regional and will head to Northwestern next week to play on May 13. Other Nominees: 2010-11 Athletes of the Week:
