No. 5 Fresno State to face No. 4 New Mexico in the quarterfinals of the 2017 MW Championship

LAS VEGAS – The Fresno State women's soccer team will make its first Mountain West Championship appearance since 2013 on Tuesday. As the No. 5 seed in the tournament, the Bulldogs will face No. 4 New Mexico at 7 p.m. PT at UNLV's Peter Johann Memorial Soccer Field.
The MW Championship is a six-team tournament, single elimination tournament, which begins Oct. 31 and runs through Nov. 4.
How to follow – All five matches will be televised on Stadium. They can also be viewed on WatchStadium.com, WatchStadium.Twitter.com and on the Mountain West Network. Live stats for each match will also be available on the 2017 MW Women's Soccer Championship page.
The bracket – San Jose State, who clinched the MW regular-season title, enters the tournament as the No. 1 seed. The Spartans will receive a first round bye, as does No. 2 seed San Diego State.
Boise State locked in the No. 3 seed and will face No. 6 seed Air Force on Tuesday at 4 p.m. PT.
The winner of the match between Fresno State and New Mexico will see No. 1 seed San Jose State in the semifinals on Thursday, Nov. 2. No. 2 seed San Diego State will face the winner of the Boise State and Air Force match in the semifinals.

The last time the two squads met, New Mexico defeated Fresno State 1-0 on Oct. 6 in Albuquerque.
The Lobos – New Mexico finished the regular-season with a 12-7 (7-4 MW) record. New Mexico has recorded more goals (30-23), shots (323-208) and more corners (112-73).

In the record books – Two 'Dogs have left their mark in the program's record book this season. Glaser tied the program record for most goals in a single-season (15). Delgadillo tied the program record for most assists in a single-season (10). Delgadillo has moved up to No. 3 on the assists career leaders list (20), No. 7 on the goals career leaders list (18) and No. 5 on the points career leaders list (56). Theroux became No. 7 on the saves career leaders list with 111 career saves.

Reviewing last week – Fresno State's four-game win streak ended in a loss to regular-season champion San Jose State on Oct. 27. The game-winning goal was scored in the 81st minute when Lauola Amanoni took a running shot in the box, scoring over the goalies head. Kristen Amarikwa had the assist on the goal. Fresno State couldn't find the back of the net to erase the deficit before time expired.
