Â
Series history with New Mexico
• After New Mexico's win on Dec. 29 in Fresno, the all-time series is tied at 10-10.
• The Bulldogs had regained their lead in the series by sweeping last year's contests prior to this year's 80-54 defeat at the Save Mart Center.
• Fresno State is 3-6 in nine games at The Pit with all three wins coming since the Bulldogs joined the Mountain West.
• In the nine meetings since 2013, only two games were decided by double digits, both resulting in Fresno State losses.
• The Bulldogs are 6-3 against the Lobos since joining the Mountain West.
Â
A look at New Mexico
• New Mexico enters Saturday's game with a 14-11 overall record and are 9-5 in conference play.
• UNM is 10-5 this year at WisePies Arena and 5-2 in league games with those two games coming against Colorado State and UNLV.
• After opening conference with a 7-3 record, the Lobos have been hit by the injury bug in recent weeks, losing two of their top five scorers (Jaisa Nunn and Mykiel Burleson) to knee injuries. UNM has dropped two of its last four games, including Wednesay night's game at Boise State by two after surrending a 10-point lead through three quarters.
• The Lobos are averaging 68.8 points per game, outscoring opponents by 6.4.
• Junior Cherise Beynon ranks 12th in the NCAA in assists per game with 6.6. The guard is also first on the Lobos in points (15.9) and is second in rebounds (7.0) per game.
• 6-foot-5 graduate transfer Richelle van der Keijl leads the Lobos in rebounding with 9.6 per game while she is second in scoring at 14.3 per game.
• van der Keijl's 9.6 rebounds per game ranks 38th nationally.
• New Mexico ranks fourth in the NCAA in rebounding, grabbing 47.8 per game. UNM hauls down the majority of its rebounds on the defensive end, recording a 33.0 per game, the second-most per game in the NCAA.
• Like Fresno State, the Lobos are one of the least foul-prone teams in the country, committing just 13.6 per game which ranks 14th nationally.
• New Mexico ranks as one of the top defensive teams in the NCAA, holding teams to the 10th-lowest field-goal percentage (34.5).
Â
Dynamic duo
• Fresno State's offense has been led this year by the duo of junior Bego Faz Davalos and sophomore Candice White. The two are averaging a combined 29.6 points per game, nearly half of the team's total offense.
• The two rank as the third-highest scoring duo in the Mountain West behind San Jose State's Dezz Ramos and Jasmine Smith (33.8) and New Mexico's Cherise Beynon and Richelle Van Der Keijl (30.2).
• The Bulldogs are 13-6 on the year when both score in double figures, but are 1-4 when one or both does not hit the mark.
Â
Chasing 60
• With the strength of Jaime White's teams being on the defensive side of the ball, a benchmark for its offense has been to score 60 points. Under White, Fresno State has won 71.9 percent of those games (41-16). The Bulldogs' record when scoring between 60-69 points is 26-13.
• This season, the 'Dogs are 12-3 when scoring more than 60 points.
Â
Holding teams down
• The Bulldogs have held its opponents to 60 points or less in 11 of its 14 wins.
• Only three teams have scored more than 70 points against the 'Dogs this season (Washington, 85; New Mexico 80; San Jose State 77 and 74). Fresno State allowed four teams to score at least 80 points during the 2015-16 season. All four games resulted in losses. Washington scored the most of any Bulldog opponent that season (89).
Â
Breaking 3-point curse
• During the past two seasons, Fresno State has struggled in the win column when making six or more 3-pointers. The Bulldogs' record in such games during the first two seasons under Jaime White was 10-11.
• The 'Dogs have seemingly reversed the trend this year by holding a 8-3 record when knocking down at least six 3's with both losses coming on the road in their last two games.
Â
Erasing deficits
• Heading into its last game of nonconference play, Fresno State was 0-3 when trailing at the half. The Bulldogs reversed that trend at Weber State, turning a six-point halftime deficit into a three-point win.
• Fresno State is 6-5 when trailing at the half since the Weber State contest and is 18-21 under Jaime White.
• Since the start of conference play, Fresno State has outscored its opponents by 54 points in the third quarter (+4.5) and is plus-71 in the second half.
• Against Nevada (Jan. 21), Fresno State outscored the Wolf Pack by 22 in the second half, its largest margin in a second half versus a Division I opponent since Washington State on Nov. 30, 2012 (+27).
Â
Same player, new year
• It may be another year but junior Bego Faz Davalos hadn't seen a drop off from last year. Through 24 games, the center's numbers are on par from last season as she is averaging 14.8 points, 11.1 rebounds, 3.6 blocks, 2.1 assists and 1.5 steals.
• Faz Davalos leads the Bulldogs in points, rebounds, blocks and assists, and is second in steals.
• She has recorded at least four blocked shots in 10 games this season.
• In conference, Faz Davalos ranks first in rebounding (11.0), defensive rebounds (7.3) and blocks (3.6), second in offensive rebounds (3.8), third in field-goal percentage (.541), sixth in scoring (14.8) and eighth in steals (1.6).
Â
Doubling up
• She ranks third nationally in double-doubles with 16 and is second in program history with 32.
• With 16 double-doubles this season, she set a new single-season program record, breaking her own which she set during the 2015-16 season with 14.
• Faz Davalos is nearing the Mountain West single-season record which sits at 20 by Linda Froehlich of UNLV (1999-2000).
Â
Time to shine
• After playing in 11 games as a freshman, and logging 6.3 minutes per game, Candice White leads team in minutes (33.4) and points (14.8), and is second in rebounds (5.5).
• The sophomore also second on the team in steals (1.5) and has swiped three or more steals in seven games, including a career-high five against CSU Dominguez Hills.
• She has reached double figures in scoring in 21 of 25 games.
• White has recorded three of the team's 10 20-point scoring performances this season, including a career-high 25 points at Nevada and 21-point games versus UC Irvine and CSU Dominguez Hills.
• The 25-point effort (9-of-13) was the most points by a Bulldog since Alex Sheedy scored 25 points against Wyoming on Feb. 25, 2015.

Â
Taking charity
• Prior to missing three free throws versus CSU Dominguez Hills, sophomore Candice White ranked fourth nationally in free-throw percentage. She is currently No. 15 at 88.0 percent (73-of-83).
• White opened the season with 18 consecutive free throws which is the most on record to start a season by a Bulldog dating back to the 1983-84 season. Records are not available prior to the 1983-84 season.
• Still with six regular-season games remaining, in site for White is Jessie Farias' single-season school record for free-throw percentage which stands at 86.5 percent.
• Long term is Staci Oddo's career record at 81.7 percent (min. 160 attempts). White currently sits at 86.8 percent with just over half of the minimum required attempts.
Â
Missing in action
• With the loss of Breanne Knishka on Jan. 3 to a knee injury, the Bulldogs will be down another player from its original starting five for Saturday's game as Tory Jacobs will serve a one-game suspension which was handed down from the Mountain West as a result of a flagrant 2 technical foul she received during Wednesday night's game at San Jose State.
Â
