Bulldog Bones
• Junior Bego Faz Davalos ranks in the top 15 in the NCAA in seven stat categories. The 6-foot-3 center ranks fourth in the country in blocks per game (3.7), second in total blocks (77), third in triple-doubles (1) and double-doubles (15), 10th in rebounds per game (11.1), 12th in total rebounds (234) and in defensive rebounds per game (7).
• On Jan. 28 against Utah State, Faz Davalos posted her 15th double-double of the season, breaking her single-season school record which she set as a sophomore.
• Faz Davalos is one of six players in the NCAA to average at least 14 points and 11 rebounds.
• Faz Davalos leads the Bulldogs in rebounds (11.1) and blocks (3.7). She is second in points (14.4) and steals (1.5).
• After struggling during the opening three games of the conference season, not reaching double figures in each contest, Faz Davalos has since broken out by averaging 14.6 points and 12.6 rebounds per game during the following seven games.
• Sophomore Candice White paces the team in points (14.7) and steals (1.6) while grabbing rebounds 5.5 rebounds per contest. Â
• In the last seven games, Tory Jacobs has taken more of a role in finding open teammates as she is averaging 4.1 assists per game during the stretch.
• In the Bulldogs five conference wins, the team has outscored opponents by 82 points during the second half and 55 during just the third quarter.
• Fresno State is 16th nationally in least committed fouls. The 'Dogs commit just 14.0 personal fouls per game.
Series history with San Diego State
• San Diego State holds a 27-17 advantage in the all-time series.
• Fresno State is 7-12 on the road against SDSU.
• The 'Dogs are 6-3 against the Aztecs since joining the Mountain West.
• Prior to last season's 65-54 double-overtime defeat, the Bulldogs had won four straight games against the Aztecs. SDSU scored 19 points during the second overtime, more than it did in the first half or any quarter throughout the game, to pull away.
• During the last two seasons, games between Fresno State and San Diego State have been a low-scoring affair with teams scoring no more than 57 points in regulation. Last year's contest in San Diego was 44-44 through regulation.
A look at San Diego State
• San Diego State enters Saturday's game 8-12 overall and 3-6 in Mountain West play after dropping its last three games.
• After Air Force won its first conference road game since 2007 against the Aztecs last week, SDSU lost its last two games to the league's top two teams on the road (Colorado State and Wyoming).
• While the Aztecs are just 1-8 away from Viejas Arena, they have posted a 6-3 record on its home court and are 3-1 in conference play.
• SDSU has outscored MW opponents by seven points per game at home.
• San Diego State's offense this season, again, runs through point guard McKynzie Fort who ranks second the league in scoring with 16.4 points per game.
• Washington transfer, and one time Fresno State commit, Khalia Lark joins Fort in double digits at 11.9 points per game since becoming eligible for the second half of the season.
• The Aztecs 3-point offense has played a key role in determining wins and losses this season. Eleven of their 12 losses have come when they make seven or less 3-pointers. Eight or more has resulted in a 5-1 record.
• SDSU's top threats beyond the arc have been Kymberly Ellison and Lexy Thorderson who both rank in the top five of the MW in 3-pointers made per game (2.2). In conference play, Thorderson has increased her average to 2.9 per game.
Chasing 60
• With the strength of Jaime White's teams being on the defensive side of the ball, a benchmark for its offense has been to score 60 points. Under White, Fresno State has won 74.5 percent of those games (41-14). The Bulldogs' record when scoring between 60-69 points is 26-11.
• This season, the 'Dogs are 12-1 when scoring more than 60 points, with only loss coming at Boise State on Jan. 14 in a one-point contest.
Holding teams down
• The Bulldogs have held its opponents to 60 points or less in nine of its 12 wins.
• Only three teams have scored more than 70 points against the 'Dogs this season (Washington, 85; New Mexico 80; San Jose State 74). Fresno State allowed four teams to score at least 80 points during the 2015-16 season. All four games resulted in losses. Washington scored the most of any Bulldog opponent that season (89).
Breaking 3-point curse
• During the past two seasons, Fresno State has struggled in the win column when making six or more 3-pointers. The Bulldogs' record in such games during the first two seasons under Jaime White was 11-11.
• The 'Dogs have seemingly reversed the trend this year by holding a 7-2 record when knocking down at least six 3's with both losses coming on the road in their last two games.
Erasing deficits
• Heading into its last game of nonconference play, Fresno State was 0-3 when trailing at the half. The Bulldogs reversed that trend at Weber State, turning a six-point halftime deficit into a three-point win.
• Fresno State is 4-6 when trailing at the half since the Weber State contest and is 17-21 under Jaime White.
• Since the start of conference play, Fresno State has outscored its opponents by 50 points in the third quarter (+5.0) and is plus-59 in the second half.
• Against Nevada (Jan. 21), Fresno State outscored the Wolf Pack by 22 in the second half, its largest margin in a second half versus a Division I opponent since Washington State on Nov. 30, 2012 (+27).
Same player, new year
• It may be another year but junior Bego Faz Davalos hadn't seen a drop off from last year. Through 21 games, the center's numbers are on par from last season as she is averaging 14.4 points, 11.1 rebounds, 3.7 blocks, 2.1 assists and 1.5 steals.
• Faz Davalos leads the Bulldogs in rebounds and blocks.
• She ranks third nationally in double-doubles with 15 and is second in program history with 31.
• She has recorded at least four blocked shots in nine games this season.
• With 15 double-doubles this season, she set a new single-season program record, breaking her own which she set during the 2015-16 season.
Time to shine
• After playing in 11 games as a freshman, and logging 6.3 minutes per game, Candice White leads team in minutes (32.6) and points (14.7), and is second in rebounds (5.5).
• The sophomore also paces the team in steals (1.6) and has swiped three or more steals in seven games, including a career-high five against CSU Dominguez Hills.
• She has reached double figures in scoring in 17 of 21 games.
• White has recorded three of the team's top five scoring performances this season, including a career-high 25 points at Nevada and 21-point games versus UC Irvine and CSU Dominguez Hills.
• The 25-point effort (9-of-13) was the most points by a Bulldog since Alex Sheedy scored 25 points against Wyoming on Feb. 25, 2015.
• In conference, White is second in free-throw percentage (.870), fifth in 3-point percentage (.408), sixth in scoring (14.7), field-goal percentage (.477) and 3-point field goals made per game (2.0), and ninth in minutes played (32.6) and steals (1.6).
