'Dogs fall in battle against No. 18 Oklahoma State, 4-2

STILLWATER, Okla. – The Fresno State men's tennis team fell in a hard-fought battle against No. 18 Oklahoma State, Wednesday afternoon.
The Bulldogs fall to 12-10 on the season.Â
Doubles – OSU took the doubles point.
The Cowboys took the win at the No. 3 position when Zdenek Derkas and Youssef Hassan were bested by their opponents. Xander Veys and Cagatay Soke locked in the win on their court 6-2. The point was clinched at the No. 1 position when Mantas Bugailiskis and Cem Erturk fell 6-2.
Cowboys took a 1-0 lead into singles.
Singles – Fresno State tied the match 1-1 when Soke defeated his opponent at the No. 6 position in straight sets (6-3, 6-4).
The Cowboys retook the lead when Jeremy Moser fell at the No. 4 position (6-4, 6-0). OSU extended its lead to 3-1 when Veys was bested by #83 Srtur Dubinski at the No. 1 position.
Fresno State made it a 3-2 match when Bugailiskis defeated his opponent at the No. 2 position (6-4, 7-5).
The match was clinched at the No. 3 position when Derkas fell in a hard-fought three-set match (6-2, 1-6, 6-3). The match at the No. 5 position was left unfinished.
What's next – The Bulldogs will return home to host New Mexico in their Mountain West home opener on Sunday, April 1 at 11 a.m. PT in the Spalding G. Wathen Tennis Center.
