'Dogs host Rebels in Thursday night matchup

FRESNO, Calif. – The Fresno State men's tennis team will kick off Senior Week against UNLV on Thursday, April 12 at 4 p.m. PT in the Spalding G. Wathen Tennis Center.

QUICK LOOK AT THE 'DOGSÂ Â Â Â Â Â Â Â
Fresno State is 14-11 (3-1 MW) this season, 9-0 at home.
Cem Erturk has a team-best 17-4 dual singles record, playing at the No. 4 position for the Bulldogs. Cagatay Soke has notched a 13-6 dual singles record, playing at the No. 5 position. In doubles, Soke and Xander Veys have a team-best 9-7 record while playing at the No. 2 position. Â
LAST WEEK – Fresno State posted a 1-1 week, with a win over Boise State and a loss to No. 50 Utah State.
The Bulldogs defeated the Broncos 4-1 on the road. The Broncos notched the doubles point, but their luck ended in doubles. The Bulldogs swept singles. Zdenek Derkas came through for the Bulldogs winning his match in three sets at the No. 3 position to clinch the win. Â
Fresno State suffered its first conference loss, falling 4-2 to No. 50 Utah State. The Aggies chalked the doubles point after winning a tiebreaker at the No. 2 position. The Bulldogs evened the score when Cem Erturk blew past his opponent 6-1, 6-4 at the No. 4 position. Fresno State would score one more point, when Zdenek Derkas won a three-set battle at the No. 3 position, but the Aggies caught a winning wave to finish our singles play.
IN CONFERENCE PLAY – Zdenek Derkas has chalked an impressive 4-0 singles record during Mountain West play this season. Erturk follows closely behind with a 3-0 conference record.

UNLV is 13-7 (3-2 MW) this season, 1-4 on the road. UNLV enters Thursday's match on a four-match winning streak.
Alexandr Cozbinov owns a team-best 15-3 dual singles record, playing at the No. 1 position. Cozbinov is ranked #89 in the nation this season, he is UNLV's only ranked player. In doubles, Cozbinov and Courtney Lock have a team-best 11-6 doubles record, playing at the No. 1 position.
Series history – Fresno State owns all-time record 19-8, although UNLV has won the last four meetings between the teams. The last time the two squads met, the Rebels defeated the Bulldogs 4-3 in the semifinals of the 2017 MW Tournament.
