'Dogs rout Rebels 4-2

FRESNO, Calif. – The Fresno State men's tennis team defeated UNLV 4-2, Thursday night. The Bulldogs are a perfect 10-0 at home this season.

Fresno State improves to 15-11 (4-1 MW) on the season. The Bulldogs are currently in second place in Mountain West standings.

Doubles – UNLV won the doubles point.

Youssef Hassan and Mantas Bugailiskis defeated their opponents at the No. 3 position, 6-2.

UNLV took wins at the No. 1 position (6-3) and the No. 2 position (7-5), to clinch the doubles point.

Singles – The Rebels took a 2-0 lead when #89 Alexandr Cozbinov defeated Xander Veys at the No. 1 position (6-1, 6-2).

Fresno State chalked its first point when Cagatay Soke bested Eric Samuelsson at the No. 5 position (6-3, 6-3). Cem Erturk tied the match 2-2, defeating Richard Solberg (6-3, 6-4) at the No. 4 position.

The Bulldogs notched their first lead of the match when Bugailiskis defeated his opponent in straight sets at the No. 2 position (6-2, 6-2).

Zdenek Derkas clinched the match for Fresno State at the No. 3 position. Derkas fought back from a 3-0 deficit in the first set, to win the set in a tiebreaker. He went on to win the second set 6-1, securing the win for the Bulldogs. Derkas remains undefeated in conference play, 5-0.

The match at the No. 6 position was left unfinished.
