• The Bulldogs opened the 2021 season over the weekend winning two of three games over CSU Bakersfield.
• Fresno State won its 13th consecutive season opener as well as its 13th straight home opener on Friday in a 13-2 win over the Roadrunners.
• The Dogs last won their road opener in 2014 defeating UC Irvine, 2-0 in 10 innings.
• The Diamond 'Dogs rank fourth in the nation in doubles per game (3.00), 18th in slugging percentage (.529), 21st in walks allowed per nine innings (2.67), 24th in scoring (8.7 runs per game), 30th in batting average (.308) and 31st in home runs per game (1.33).

A look at the San Francisco Dons
San Francisco is 3-4 to start to the season with a series win over No. 2 UCLA on opening weekend before going 1-3 against Cal over the weekend winning 10-6 at home on Saturday.
The Dons tied for fifth with LMU in the preseason WCC poll and did not have any selections to the preseason All-WCC team.
Senior outfielder Ryan Davis leads the Dons hitting .350 from the plate while senior outfielder Nick Yovetich has a team-high four doubles. As a team, USF is hitting .233 from the plate and ranks third in the WCC in doubles (12).
On the mound, San Francisco has a 4.05 team ERA while allowing a .231 average from the plate. Senior right-hander Alex Pham leads the way with 10 strikeouts in three appearances and 4.2 innings of work.

Preseason All-MW selection Zach Presno picked up where he left off in 2020 on opening weekend with a pair of home runs, a double, drove in three RBIs and scored four runs.
Standout starts
The Bulldogs got a pair of standout starts from Jamison Hill on Friday and Jake Dixon on Saturday as each went six innings on the mound.
Hill allowed one earned run and six hits while striking out six and Dixon followed up action on Saturday with six shutout innings limiting CSUB to four hits, all singles, no runs while striking out four.
Miami to Fresno
Newcomer Josh Lauck, a transfer from Miami, got the starting nod in all three games at second base and went 5-for-9 in the series at the plate with three doubles, three RBIs, six runs scored and stole two bases.
