BULLDOG BONES
- When Fresno State travels to USC this weekend, it will be facing a top 10-ranked team for the first time since 2017. It is the 12th meeting with an AP Top 10 team in program history.
- The Bulldogs face Pac-12 opponents in back-to-back weeks this year, first hosting Oregon State last week before traveling to USC for this week's matchup. It's the first time since 2014 that the 'Dogs have two Pac-12 opponents in a row.Â
- Fresno State had nine players record a reception in the season-opening 35-7 win over Cal Poly, and followed up with another nine-receiver performance against Oregon State.Â
- Fresno State was on a four-game winning streak before Oregon State spoiled the run last weekend. The four-game win streak was the longest for the Bulldogs since the team won seven-straight in 2018.Â
- The Fresno State football team was picked to win the West Division by the media, the Mountain West announced prior to the 2022 Mountain West Football Media Days at the Mandalay Bay of Las Vegas in July.
- Fresno State had five players earn preseason recognition by the conference this season. Quarterback Jake Haener was named the Preseason Offensive Player of the Year, and All-MW quarterback. Haener is the first Bulldog to be named Mountain West Preseason Offensive Player of the Year since Derek Carr in 2013.
- Fresno State's leading wide receiver from 2021 returns as a Bulldog this season, but that 5 jersey looks a little bit different this year. Valley native Jalen Cropper has changed the last name on his jersey to "Moreno-Cropper" to honor his late grandfather.Â
- For the first time in program history, Fresno State has all 12 of its regular season games set to be broadcast on national television. The Bulldogs will play eight games on a Fox Sports Network platform, with the remaining four on CBS Sports Network.Â
- Fresno State has 25 players on its roster who have earned their undergraduate degrees. Sixteen of those 25 earned their degree from Fresno State, while the remaining nine earned theirs at a former stop.Â
- Haener threw for his 14th career 300-yard passing performance against Oregon State last week, and moved into second in Fresno State history in the stat category, officially passing David Carr on the list. Brother Derek Carr holds the program record with 20 career 300-yard passing games.
- Jordan Mims has scored 30 of Fresno State's 67 points on the year with a team-high five total touchdowns (four rush, one receiving). Mims' five touchdowns is the most by a Bulldog running back through the first two games of a season in at least the last 15 years.Â
- True freshman Gavriel Lightfoot was a name that stood out for the Bulldogs during camp. Praised by his coaches and teammates for being a tough worker and a quick learner, Ligfhtfoot at 6'3 and 315 pounds, was a starting defensive tackle for the Bulldogs in Week 1 vs. Cal Poly and again against Oregon State.
