Wright & Salas earn titles at Northern Colorado Open

Fresno State Wrestling redshirt freshmen Jacob Wright and Danny Salas earned titles at the Northern Colorado Open on Saturday afternoon.
GREELEY, Colo. - Fresno State Wrestling redshirt freshmen Jacob Wright and Danny Salas earned titles at the Northern Colorado Open on Saturday afternoon.
Hosted at Bank of Colorado Arena, Wright at 157 pounds and Salas at 197 pounds completed perfect runs as Wright went 4-0 and Salas posted a 3-0 mark on the day.
Wright notched a major decision, technical fall and fall on his way to a 8-1 win in the finals over Gavin Melendez of Colorado State Pueblo. Salas secured a technical fall and a 6-5 win on his way to the final where he beat Jose Rodriguez of Northeastern Junior College, 20-4.
Fellow redshirt freshman Jeremy Trinh also competed in the tournament at 125 pounds going 1-2 picking up a 10-7 win over Graham Shore of the Air Force Prep.
