2019-20 (Redshirt Sophomore): Earned an automatic berth to the NCAA Championships where he finished fifth at 157 pounds at the Big 12 Championship ... tabbed the No. 25 seed at the NCAA Championships that were canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic ... earned National Wrestling Coaches Association Scholar All-American honors ... tied for a team-leading 24 wins posting a 24-9 overall record ... went 10-5 in dual meets ... collected a team-high 16 wins by decision ... also earned six major decisions and two falls ... won the Roadrunner Open with a 5-0 record and a 2-0 win over Wyatt Gerl (CSU Bakersfield) ... went 5-2 at the Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invite finishing fifth ... won four of six matches at the Big 12 Championship with a fall, two major decisions and a 7-1 win over Paden Moore (Northern Iowa) in the fifth-place match ... defeated four ranked opponents ... named Big 12 Co-Wrestler of the Week on Nov. 5 after going 3-0 at the AFC Duals/Battle on the Midway with wins over Garrett Model (Wisconsin), Scout Skidgel (Navy), No. 17 Lucas Weiland (Army) ... Academic All-Big 12 First Team selection ... 2018-19 (Redshirt Freshman): Wright recorded a 23-13 overall record as a redshirt freshman, tying for the third-most wins on the team... tallied a 18-6 mark at 157 pounds and a 5-5 mark at 165 pounds.... also went 4-0 while competing unattached at the Northern Colorado.... claimed 16 wins by decision, three falls, two major decisions, one technical fall and one win by injury default... went 10-4 in dual meets... tallied a 5-2 mark in Big 12 duals... finished fifth at the Big 12 Championship going 2-2 while defeating Luke Weber (North Dakota State), 7-5 in TB2 in the fifth-place match... went 3-2 at the Cliff Keen Invite... finished third at the Reno Tournament of Champions going 4-1 with a 3-0 defeat of Dewey Krueger (Wyoming) in the third-place match... posted a 4-2 mark at the Midlands Championships... reeled off seven straight dual meet wins before falling in the final regular season dual against Oklahoma ... Academic All-Big 12 First Team selection.
2017-18 (Freshman): Redshirted.... Wright went 4-3 in a pair of tournaments competing unattached at 157 pounds... went 2-2 at the Reno Tournament of Champions with a pair of major decision victories winning 11-3 over Tanner Canaday (Southern Oregon) and 12-0 over Liam Corbett (Highline CC)... went 2-1 at the Menlo College Invitational with a pair of victories by fall over Angelo Goumenidis (Southern Oregon) in 4:24 and Riley Briggs (Unattached) in 6:03.
High School: Wright finshed as a two-time CIF State Medalist at Dinuba High School... placed fourth at 145 lbs. as a senior in 2017  and was a 2016 CIF State Finalist placing second at 138 lbs... ranked #16 nationally by FloWrestling at 145 lbs as a senior... posted a 102-18 prep career... four-year letter winner who wrestled at a different weight in each of his four seasons as a prep.
Personal: Son of Linda and Michael Wright... older brother, Michael plays football at Sacramento State... criminology major at Fresno State...Â
