2019-20 (Redshirt Sophomore): Hemauer went 10-8 overall while competing at 174 pounds ... went 5-4 in dual meets ... earned eight wins by decisions and two falls ... won the Roadrunner Open with a 4-0 record earning a 6-1 win over Lennox Wolak (Columbia) in the finals ... went 1-2 at the Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invite with a 7-3 win over No. 11 Brandon Womack (Cornell) ... earned Big 12 wins over Billy Higgins (Northern Colorado) in a fall in 4:43 & a 6-0 win over Kelby Hawkins (South Dakota State) ... fell to No. 2 seed Anthony Mantanona (Oklahoma) & Luke Weber (North Dakota State) in the Big 12 Championship ... opened the season with wins over Jared Krattinger (Wisconsin), 6-5 & No. 18 Spencer Carey (Navy), 3-1 at the AFC Duals.
2018-19 (Redshirt Freshman): 2019 NCAA Tournament qualifier... finished fifth at the 2019 Big 12 Championship... posted a 23-13 overall record... recorded the third-most wins on the team... went 12-5 in dual meets... tied for second-most dual wins on the team... posted a 5-3 mark in Big 12 duals... tallied one fall, five technical falls, four major decisions and 13 decisions on the season... competed in 17 matches against 11 NCAA Tournament competitors posting a 7-10 mark... defeated Christian LaFragola (Brown) three times on the season, Bob Coleman (Oregon State) twice and Tate Samuelson (Wyoming) twice... recorded his lone fall of the season against Arick Lopez (California Baptist) in 1:49... notched five technical falls with his fastest coming in 3:10 against Coleman at home on Jan. 31... picked up four major decisions, including a pair of 12-2 victories over Carless Looney (Wyoming) at the Cliff Keen Invite and LaFragola at the Midland Championships... tied for the second-most decisions on the team with 13.
2017-18 (Freshman): Redshirted... went 2-2 competing unattached at the California Collegiate Open to finish fourth... defeated Jordan Bernal (Menlo College), 5-1 and pinned Samuel Lee (University of California) in 1:38 for his two victories.
Prior to Fresno State: Hemauer arrives in Fresno after spending the fall 2017 semester at the University of Wisconsin.
High School: Was a Fargo Junior All-American, taking third place in 2016... as a junior in 2015, he claimed his first state title and was named first-team All-State...as a sophomore in 2014, the two-time team MVP was state runner-up and named second-team All-Area....Hemauer was ranked as the No. 1 recruit in the state via Wisconsin Wrestling Online in the 2016 class. He was ranked 12th in the nation by FloWrestling and 14th by The Open Mat.... earned first-team Academic All-State as a sophomore and second-team All-State as a junior.
Personal:Â Son of Janet & Mark Hemauer... his father, Mark Hemauer, wrestled five years at UW-Parkside... has a younger sister, Cheyenne and a younger brother, Brady... also played football and golf in high school and graduated cum laude... biggest athletic thrill was winning his first state title in high school... favorite athlete is Dwayne Wade... most admires his parents for them working their hardest to guide him and his siblings and putting them first... choose to attend Fresno State because his dad was very close friends with Coach Steiner from coaching together.
