2019-20 (Redshirt Sophomore): Perez went 12-4 overall at both 133 and 141 pounds while competing unattached ... posted a 8-3 mark at 133 pounds and 4-1 at 141 pounds ... earned two wins by decision, two major decisions, two technical falls, five falls and one forfeit ... finished third at 133 pounds at the Roadrunner Open going 4-1 and earned a fall over Trent Svingala (Columbia) in 2:49 in the third-place match ... went 4-2 at the Reno Tournament of Champions at 133 pounds ... closed out his season at the California Collegiate Open finishing second at 141 pounds going 4-1 with a win by decision, major decision, technical fall and fall.
Prior to Fresno State: Attended Fresno City College for two years where he was a two-time All-American... two-time Community College State Champion.
High School: Perez graduated from Dinuba High School in 2017 where he placed fourth as a senior at 126 pounds... took fourth at 120 pounds as a junior in 2016... placed sixth at 106 pounds as a sophomore in 2015... CIF Central Section Champion.
Personal: Son of Ray and Angela Perez... has three siblings, Alyssa, Day and Desiray... kinesiology major at Fresno State... enjoys hanging out with his friends... favorite athlete is Jon Jones... choose Fresno State because of the love for the program and it is close to home...
