FRESNO, Calif. - After splitting a four-game series at Oregon over the weekend, the Diamond 'Dogs wrap up their 10-game road swing at Cal Poly on Tuesday.
Game 27: Fresno State (15-11, 4-5 MW) at Cal Poly (13-16, 4-2 Big West)

A look at the Cal Poly Mustangs                       Â
Cal Poly comes into Tuesday's midweek contest with the Bulldogs nabbing one win over the weekend in its Big West series at home over Cal State Fullerton.
The Mustangs are 13-16 overall on the season with a 4-2 mark in Big West play. Cal Poly is 11-8 at home this season and wraps up a 12-game homestand on Tuesday against the 'Dogs. CP is 6-5 thus far in its homestand.
The Mustangs were predicted to finish fourth in the nine-team Big West and are led by 17th-year head coach Larry Lee who has 526 wins while at Cal Poly.
Offensively, CP is hitting .251 as a club, good for seventh in the Big West, while ranking eighth in the league in scoring averaging 3.7 runs per game.  Sophomore infielder Tate Samuelson leads the team with a .311 average from the plate while leading the team in runs (13), walks (17) and on-base percentage (.419).
Not a powering hit club, the Mustangs have only hit two home runs in their first 29 games, but have collected 38 doubles led by junior outfielder Bradlee Beesley with 10.
On the mound, Cal Poly has a staff ERA of 4.34, fourth in the Big West, while its 1.80 strikeout-to-walk ratio (223 K/124 BB) ranks eighth in the league. Opponents are hitting a collective .256 as a team against the Mustangs averaging 5.6 runs and 8.8 hits per game.
Freshman right-handed pitcher Bryan Woo will make his fourth start and 10th appearance of the season on Tuesday. The Alameda, Calif. native is 1-1 with a 9.88 ERA tossing 13.2 innings with 16 strikeouts so far this season. Opponents have been able to hit .397 off of him collecting 27 hits and 19 runs.
Diamond 'Dogs take on the Pac-12Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â Â
The Diamond 'Dogs faced a pair of Pac-12 opponents last week posting a 2-3 record picking up a pair of wins at Oregon in the first two games of a four-game series with the Ducks.
The 'Dogs fell 2-0 at then-No. 2 Stanford last Tuesday holding the Cardinal to five hits in the game, but a two-run sixth inning for Stanford proved to be the difference in the game as the Bulldogs were shutout for the first time all season.
Bulldog pitching staff on fire        Â
The Diamond 'Dogs pitchers stayed atop of the Mountain West this week after its performances against Oregon leading the conference as a staff in ERA (3.84), opposing batting average (.243), earned runs allowed (98), hits allowed (213), doubles allowed (31) and triples allowed (2).Â
In addition, the 'Dogs have given up three runs or less in 13 of its 26 games and are 11-2 in those contests.
'Dogs looking to keep continued midweek success     Â
Playing its fifth straight midweek contest against the Mustangs on Tuesday, the Bulldogs are 3-1 so far this season with wins over San Francisco, Pacific and CSU Bakersfield to go with its loss at then-No. 2 Stanford.
Fresno State will play its final four midweek contests at home hosting CSU Bakersfield twice along with Pacific and Cal Poly.
Bins named to Buster Posey Award Watch List
Junior catcher Carter Bins was named to the Buster Posey Award Watch List on April 2 which is given to the nation's top division one collegiate catcher by the Greater Wichita Area Sports Commission.
A native of Fairfield, Calif., Bins has started all 26 games behind the plate for the Diamond 'Dogs in 2019 while hitting .283 from the plate. He has added 28 hits, seven doubles, two home runs, 13 RBI, 27 runs and five stolen bases and has posted a .996 fielding percentage behind the plate while throwing out 12 would-be base stealers.
Seventy-nine catchers were nominated for the 2019 Buster Posey Award with the watch list will be narrowed down to the semifinalists, whom will be announced on Friday May 17. The finalists will be announced on Monday, June 3 with a final vote among the national committee occurring during the College World Series. All finalists will be brought to Wichita and the winner will be announced at the 22nd Annual Greater Wichita Sports Banquet on Thursday, June 27.
Ashford named a Senior CLASS Award Candidate
Fresno State Baseball senior outfielder Zach Ashford has been named a candidate for the 2019 Senior CLASS Award, the organization announced on March 22.
Thirty NCAA baseball student-athletes who excel both on and off the field were selected as candidates for the 2019 Senior CLASS Award in collegiate baseball. To be eligible for the award, a student-athlete must be classified as an NCAA Division I senior and have notable achievements in four areas of excellence: community, classroom, character and competition.
An acronym for Celebrating Loyalty and Achievement for Staying in School, the Senior CLASS Award focuses on the total student-athlete and encourages students to use their platform in athletics to make a positive impact as leaders in their communities.
Batesole reaches 800 career win milestone                              Â
Head coach Mike Batesole reached career win number 800 on Feb. 16 in the Bulldogs' 6-3 season-opening win over Utah Valley at Pete Beiden Field at Bob Bennett Stadium. Now in his 17th season at the helm of the Bulldogs this season, Batesole has won 558 games at Fresno State and 256 at CSUN from 1996-2002 for a total of 814 career wins.
In his career, Batesole has won at least 30 games in 19 of his 23 years as a Division I head coach and in 13 of his 16 seasons at Fresno State.
