'Dogs to send 14 student-athletes to U23 World Team Trials [June 1-2]

Fresno State Wrestling and the Valley Regional Training Center will send 14 student-athletes to Akron, Ohio this weekend to compete in the U23 World Team Trials.
FRESNO, Calif. - Fresno State Wrestling and the Valley Regional Training Center will send 14 student-athletes to Akron, Ohio this weekend to compete in the U23 World Team Trials on Saturday and Sunday hosted at the Louis and Freda Stile Athletic Field House on the campus of the University of Akron.
Robert Garcia IV (57 kg.), Jeremy Trinh (61 kg.), Chris Deloza (65 kg.), Lawrence Saenz (65 kg.), Jacob Wright (70 kg.), Greg Gaxiola (74 kg.), Adam Kemp (74 kg.), Ricky Padilla (74 kg.), Beau Colombini (74 kg.), Angel Solis (79 kg.), Dominic Kincaid (86 kg.), Jackson Hemauer (86 kg.), Isaiah Perez (92 kg.) & AJ Nevills (125 kg.) will represent the Red Wave in the freestyle tournament with the finalists in each weight class wrestling a best-of-three series to determine who will represent the USA at the 2019 U23 World Championships in Hungary, Budapest on Oct. 28 through Nov. 3.
Three of the Bulldog wrestlers competing this weekend redshirted this past season for the 'Dogs while Trinh, Garcia IV, Wright, Colombini, Solis and Hemauer will be redshirt sophomores next season. Gaxiola, Deloza and Nevills, a two-time Big 12 runner-up and two-time NCAA Championships qualifier, will enter their junior seasons while Padilla and Kincaid will be seniors.
Participating athletes are students who are currently officially registered as proceeding towards a degree or diploma at a university or similar institute whose status is recognized by the appropriate national academic authority of their country. All competitors must be U.S. citizens - born 1996-2000 (19-23 years old) or 2001 with medical certificate.
