2019-20 (Redshirt Senior): Padilla went 12-10 as a redshirt senior ... went 10-9 at 165 lbs. and 2-1 at 174 lbs. ... tallied a 4-4 mark in dual meet action, including a 3-1 record in Big 12 duals... earned 11 wins by decision and one major decision ... went 2-2 at the Roadrunner Open ... went 3-2 at the Cliff Keen Las Vegas Invite ... finished fourth at the Reno Tournament of Champions posting a 3-2 mark ... defeated No. 33 Austin Matthews (Northern Colorado) & Koy Wilkinson (Utah Valley) at 165 lbs. & Tyler Weiderholt (Air Force) at 174 lbs. in Big 12 dual action ... also earned a dual win over Alex Cramer (Old Dominion) at 174 lbs. at the Virginia Duals ... Academic All-Big 12 First Team selection ... Teammate of the Year.
2018-19 (Redshirt Junior): Padilla went 3-7 in his first season as a Bulldog... went 1-3 in dual meets... tallied two wins by decisions and one fall... fall came in his Bulldog debut against Nick Caracappa (Johnson & Wales) in 5:44... recorded a 4-1 win over Apollo Santos (Menlo College) at the Roadrunner Open as well as 6-0 win over Nathan Tausch (Cal Poly) at the Cliff Keen Invite... competed against four NCAA Championship qualifiers which included No. 29 seed Joseph Grello (Rutgers), No. 24 seed Lorenzo De La Riva (North Dakota State), No. 16 seed Brandon Womack (Cornell) and No. 9 seed Devin Skatzka (Minnesota).
Prior to Fresno State: Padilla spent the 2015-16 season at the USAFA Preparatory School on his way to being a National Collegiate Wrestling Association (NCWA) champion at 165 lbs... finished his lone prep school season with a 36-2 overall record... went on to wrestle for the Air Force Falcons for two seasons compiling a 22-11 overall record... went 16-10 and 1-0 in Big 12 dual action earning Big 12 Athlete of the Week honors on Feb. 20, 2017 as he was the first Falcon to earn weekly accolades from the Big 12 since Air Force joined the conference in 2015-16... also went on to win the Rocky Mountain Open as a redshirt freshman finishing the season with six bonus point victories while tying for second on the team with three technical falls.Â
High School: Padilla was a four-year letter winner in wrestling at Northview High School in Covina, Calif., and earned sixth place at 160 lbs. at the 2015 CIF State Championships... 2015 Northview HS graduate... current Bulldogs Dominic Kincaid and Beau Colombini finished third and eighth, respectively, in that weight class in 2015... also found success outside of high school competition placing seventh at the Virginia Beach Senior Nationals and was eighth at both the Fargo Cadet Freestyle Nationals and Flo Nationals... earned three letters in football, was a four-year honor roll member and graduated among the top 10 in his class in high school.
Personal: son of Lisa Padilla... has a brother, Chris and two sisters, Tatiana and Julia... all three siblings competed in wrestling collegiately... enjoys fishing and playing video games... favorite athlete is Conor McGregor because he is the greatest fighter of all time... biggest athletic thrill is winning a home dual against Northern Colorado while at Air Force... most admires all of his siblings for their accomplishments and his mother for raising them... choose to transfer to Fresno State to pursue his academic and athletic dreams... philosophy major at Fresno State... wants to be a teacher/coach professionally.... born Aug. 19, 1997.
