2019-20 (Redshirt Sophomore): Garcia went 0-2 competing at 125 lbs. falling to Mike Cullen (Wisconsin) & No. 27 Nicolas Augilar (Rutgers).
2018-19 (Redshirt Freshman): Garcia posted a 6-14 overall record... competed in 14 duals tallying a 6-8 mark... went 3-4 in seven Big 12 duals... picked up wins with one fall, two major decisions and three decisions... recorded a fall over Gregory Coapstick (SDSU) in 2:31, major decision wins over Josh Jensen (Utah Valley), 11-3 and Jacy Jones (Centenary), 13-5 along with decisions over Shane Metzler (Rutgers), 4-3, Sean Cannon (Northern Colorado), 4-2 & Antonio Saldate (California Baptist), 12-5... competed in seven matches against six NCAA Tournament qualifiers, including All-American Ronnie Bresser of Oregon State and Round of 12 competitor Brent Fleetwood (NDSU).... won his first three matches of the season.
2017-18 (Freshman): Redshirted... went 10-4 competing unattached with seven wins by decisions, a major decision and a fall.... also received a forfeit at the Reno Tournament of Champions... went 5-1 at the RTC with three wins by decisions and a 12-1 major decision over Matt Lafuel (U. Providence)... went 2-2 at the Roadrunner Open with a fall of Cameron Keating (Simpson) and a 5-2 victory over teammate Jeremy Trinh... went 2-0 at the Menlo College Invitational with a 3-2 win over Brandon Vu (San Francisco State) & Alex Hernandez-Figue (CSUB)... also defeated Christian Ramos (SFSU) at the California Collegiate Open.
High School: Garcia was a 4-time CIF State Medalist at Selma High School and coach Sam Lopez... Flowrestling Top 100 Senior.... finished runner-up at 126-lbs. at the 2017 CIF State Tournament falling in the finals to 4x California State Champion Justin Mejia (only the second wrestler to ever accomplish that feat)... finished third in 2016 at 120 lbs., placed sixth at 120 lbs. in 2015 and took second at 113 lbs. in 2014.
Personal: Son of Margaret and Robert Garcia III... has two siblings, Kyla and Kelsey... born November 16, 1998 in Fresno... business major at Fresno State.
Coach Steiner's comments:  "Robert comes to us from the Raisin Capital of the World, Selma, which is right down the road from Fresno. He will continue to squeeze the juice out of his opponents in a Bulldog singlet. This guy is very dynamic and can score points in bunches. We feel he can be a star for the Bulldogs and will be fun to watch at the next level."
