The No. 25 Fresno State Wrestling team hosts its final regular season dual of the season on Sunday welcoming No. 22 Oklahoma to the Save Mart Center for Salute to Services Day.
FRESNO, Calif. - After splitting a pair of road duals last weekend, the No. 25 Fresno State Wrestling team hosts its final regular season dual of the season welcoming Big 12 opponent No. 22 Oklahoma to the Save Mart Center on Sunday.

Scouting No. 22 Oklahoma
Oklahoma, ranked No. 22 in the InterMat dual meet rankings, enters the weekend with a 6-6 overall mark in dual meets with a 1-3 record in Big 12 duals. The Sooners picked up their lone conference win at home over West Virginia, 26-17 win on Jan. 4 and have fallen to Oklahoma State, (41-2), Iowa State (25-6) and Northern Iowa (28-6).
The Sooners, who wrestle at Air Force tonight before making their way to Fresno, are coming off a 31-6 win at Edinboro last Saturday winning eight of 10 matches with four coming by bonus points. Oklahoma's lineup features four ranked wrestlers in the second installment of the NCAA coaches rankings released on Thursday.
Leading the way is 141-pounder Dom Demas, a redshirt freshman from Columbus, Ohio, who is ranked No. 14 and sports a 22-7 overall record. Senior Davion Jeffries, a 2018 NCAA Championships qualifier, checks in No. 24 at 149 pounds and a pair of redshirt freshman round out the ranked Sooners as 174-pounder Anthony Mantaoana is No. 31 and Jake Woodley is No. 27 at 197 pounds.
Bulldogs close out Big 12 action
The 'Dogs sit 4-3 in Big 12 duals after its 21-12 win over then-No.11 Wyoming on Feb. 3 and can clinch a winning record in the conference with a win over the Sooners. The Bulldogs have conference wins over Northern Colorado (34-4), Utah Valley (26-10), South Dakota State (38-3) and Wyoming with losses to Air Force (19-15), North Dakota State (21-20) and Iowa State (31-6).
Last time against Oklahoma
The Bulldogs and Sooners met at the 2018 Virginia Duals as the 'Dogs were on the losing end of a 27-8 outcome getting a pair of wins from Khristian Olivas with a 5-4 decision at 149 pounds and a 18-3 technical fall from AJ Nevills at heavyweight.
Olivas to see familiar foe
With only three Sooners returning that competed in last year's dual, the only possible rematch from last year's dual comes at 149 pounds as Olivas sees a familiar foe in the Sooners' Davion Jeffries. The two met at the 2018 Big 12 Championships with Olivas suffering a tough 8-4 defeat in sudden victory before the two met again at the NCAA Championships with Olivas able to top Jeffries, 11-9 for the 'Dogs lone win of the 2018 NCAA Championships.
Fresno State ranked No. 25 by WIN Magazine & No. 15 in NWCA in Mid-Major Poll
The Bulldogs find themselves in the Top 25 in WIN Magazine's dual meet rankings at No. 25 and check in No. 15 in the National Wrestling Coaches Association Mid-Major Poll.
The 'Dogs are also on the brink of entering another national ranking as they are receiving the most votes among "others receiving votes" in the NWCA Association Top 25 for a second straight week.
Five 'Dogs in the national rankings
Five Bulldogs are in the national rankings this week as redshirt freshman 157-pounder Jacob Wright entered the InterMat rankings at No. 19 on Tuesday and he also made an appearance in the second NCAA Coaches rankings released on Thursday that rank the top 33 wrestlers at each weight and will help determine who makes up the 2019 NCAA Championship field at each weight.
Redshirt junior 149-pounder Khristian Olivas is as high as No. 12 by Trackwrestling and is No. 17 in the NCAA Coaches rankings & InterMat and No. 18 by FloWrestling and in the first installment of the RPI also released on Thursday. Wright checks in No. 29 in the coaches rankings and No. 25 in the RPI.
Redshirt freshman Jackson Hemauer moves up five spots in the latest NCAA rankings at 184 pounds to No. 20 while he is No. 22 in the RPI and No. 23 by Trackwrestling.
Junior 197-pounder. Josh Hokit, winner of his last nine matches, ranks No. 8 in the RPI and No. 13 in the NCAA Coaches rankings. FloWrestling, InterMat and Trackwrestling all rank Hokit at No. 14.
Finally, sophomore heavyweight AJ Nevills checks in No. 23 by the NCAA and has moved up to No. 17 by Trackwrestling while he is No. 14 in the RPI.
Bulldogs split pair of duals at CSU Bakersfield & Cal Poly
The Bulldogs are coming off splitting a pair of duals on the road last weekend against Pac-12 competition falling 18-12 to CSU Bakersfield before rebounding to defeat Cal Poly, 41-6.
The 'Dogs picked up four wins over the Roadrunners as Olivas defeated No. 17 Russell Rohlfing, 10-3 for his fifth win against a ranked opponent this season. Wright picked up a 5-0 win at 157 pounds while Josh Hokit defeated his opponent 6-2 and Nevills topped Jarrod Snyder, 4-0 for his victory.
Bouncing back from seeing their four-match winning streak snapped against CSUB, the 'Dogs clinched a winning dual meet season in only their second year back with a dominant win over the Mustangs winning nine of 10 matches with seven Bulldogs gaining bonus points with two falls, a forfeit, a technical fall and three major decisions.
Current winning streaks
A number of individuals bring winning streaks into Sunday's regular season finale as Nevills has won his last three matches while Olivas brings a six-match winning streak winning his last five outings after receiving a forfeit against Cal Poly. Wright and Josh Hokit look to extend their seven and nine match winning streaks, respectively.

Pledges for pins is designed to help support the Fresno State Wrestling Program. Proceeds will benefit the Fresno State Wrestling Fund for Excellence along with a portion contributing to the Valley Regional Training Center -- a nonprofit organization that supports Fresno State Wrestling.
It works like this, for example, if you pledge $5 per pin and the team accumulates 40 pins during the season, your pledge will be $200. Throughout the season, pins and pledges will be recorded and a letter will be mailed with your pledge amount and payment information.
