| Junior All-America pitcher Jamie Southern (Clovis, Calif.) has been selected gobulldogs.com Athlete of the Week for her accomplishments in the Bulldogs' four victories against UTEP and San Jose State. Helping the Bulldogs to doubleheader sweeps over the Miners and San Spartans, Southern went 3-0 with two shutouts and a save while not allowing a walk and striking out 25 (7.92 strikeouts per 7/IP) in 22.1 innings of work last week. In the process she became the 22nd NCAA Division I player to amass 1,000 or more career strikeouts on April 15 against UTEP. It marks the third time this year Southern has been named gobulldogs.com's Athlete of the Week. | ||
