FRESNO, Calif. - The Bulldogs return to the Midwest on Saturday taking on Big 12 foe South Dakota State in Frost Arena.

Bulldog Headlines

Fresno State returns to the Midwest this weekend after splitting a pair of duals on the road last weekend at Wyoming winning 22-19 before falling to North Dakota State, 28-7.
The 'Dogs, who are 9-8 overall in duals this season, are 4-2 in Big 12 duals.
Fresno State is currently sixth in the Big 12 with two conference duals remaining.
The Bulldogs ended their dual meet slate at home on Feb. 2 with a 5-3 mark at the Save Mart Center.
Fresno State makes its first-ever trip to South Dakota State for only the two program's second-ever meeting.
Senior heavyweight Josh Hokit carries a seven-match winning streak into Saturday's dual at South Dakota State.
Five Bulldogs found themselves in the second NCAA Coaches' panel rankings/RPI released on Thursday as Josh Hokit was No. 11, DJ Lloren No. 20, Jacob Wright No. 24, and Brandon Martino No. 26 while Adam Kemp was No. 25 in the RPI.

Scouting South Dakota State

Fresno State leads the all-time series over the Jackrabbits, 1-0.
South Dakota State is 10-5 in duals this season with a 5-2 mark in Big 12 duals.
The Jackrabbits have recorded conference wins over Utah Valley (24-12), Northern Iowa (25-13), Wyoming (17-16), Oklahoma (23-16) and West Virginia (29-15) while falling to Iowa State (22-17) and Oklahoma State (35-3).
SDSU is 2-2 at home with its wins over Wyoming and Oklahoma and losses to Iowa State & Minnesota (22-10).
Six Jackrabbits are in the national coaches' panel rankings led by senior 149-pounder Henry Pohlmeyer who checks in No. 9 and has a 16-4 overall record and a 9-2 mark in duals.
Danny Vega (125 lbs.), Zach Price (133 lbs.), Tanner Cook (165 lbs.), Zach Carlson (184 lbs.) and Tanner Sloan (197 lbs.) are also all in the coaches' panel rankings at their respective weights.
This will be the 'Dogs first-ever trip to Brookings, S.D. and Frost Arena.

'Dogs in Big 12 action
The 'Dogs are 4-2 in Big 12 duals this season with wins over Northern Colorado (25-15), Utah Valley (24-19), Air Force (19-18) and Wyoming (22-19) while falling to No. 18 Iowa State (34-9) and North Dakota State (28-7).

Overall, in three years in the conference, Fresno State is 9-11 in dual meet action in the Big 12 after going 4-4 in 2018-19 and 1-5 in 2017-18. The 'Dogs are 5-5 overall in home Big 12 duals, 4-5 on the road and 0-1 at a neutral site.

Fresno State draws more than 2,500 fans per home dual in 2019-20
The 'Dogs wrapped up their home slate against Iowa State on Jan. 31 and Air Force & CSU Bakersfield on Feb. 2. The Bulldogs defeated Air Force, 19-18 at home on criteria while falling to Iowa State, 34-9 and CSU Bakersfield, 26-10.

The Bulldog averaged 2,519 fans per dual over its eight home matches for a total of 20,152 fans at the Save Mart Center this season.

Fresno State places third at 2020 Virginia Duals
The Bulldogs overcame an opening round loss to Maryland to defeat Duke, 50-0 before topping Old Dominion, 20-15 and Kent State, 16-15 to place third in the Virginia Duals field on Jan. 11. Lloren, Cruz and Hokit all went 4-0 in the tournament as Hokit used a 13-3 major decision over Kent State's Spencer Berthold to complete the comeback win over the Golden Flashes.

Wright earns Big 12 Co-Wrestler of the Week
For the second time in program history, Fresno State Wrestling had a Big 12 Wrestler of the Week after Wright was named the Big 12 Co-Wrestler of the Week on Nov. 5 after going 3-0 at the AFC Duals/Battle on the Midway on Nov. 1 in San Diego.

Up next
Fresno State wraps up the regular season next weekend traveling to No. 23 Illinois (9-3) on Feb. 21 and Big 12 foe Oklahoma (3-6, 1-5 B12) on Feb. 23.

Pledge for Pins
Pledges for pins is designed to help support the Fresno State Wrestling Program. Proceeds will benefit the Fresno State Wrestling Fund for Excellence along with a portion contributing to the Valley Regional Training Center -- a nonprofit organization that supports Fresno State Wrestling.

It works like this, for example, if you pledge $5 per pin and the team accumulates 40 pins during the season, your pledge will be $200. Throughout the season, pins and pledges will be recorded and a letter will be mailed with your pledge amount and payment information.
