Jelena Pandzic

In leading Fresno State to its third consecutive WAC title, Jelena Pandzic was named gobulldogs.com's Athlete of the Week for April 26-May 3.

After sitting out the first round match against San Jose State, Pandzic won in both singles and doubles in the Bulldogs' victories over Rice and SMU. She is now ranked 16th in the nation in singles and has gone 21-1 on the season. In doubles, she is 18-2 with partner Lucia Tallo and ranked 27th.

Pandzic's outstanding season was rewarded with an armful of awards following the conference tournament. She was named WAC Player of the Year, WAC Freshman of the Year and as an All-WAC first-team member in singles and doubles. She was the fourth consecutive Fresno State player to win the league's top player award.

The Split, Croatia, native is a sure bet to participate in the NCAA Singles Tournament, and she may also receive a berth with partner Tallo in the doubles tournament.
