Mychal Ladd Palmdale, Calif. |
Mychal Ladd, a sophomore guard, led the Bulldogs to a 2-0 record on the week, including a 71-68 come-from-behind victory over Boise State and a 23-point sheering win over the Mountain West's Colorado State Rams, with an 8 for 12 clip (67%) from beyond the 3-point arc and an average of 15.0 points per game. Ladd, a highly regarded recruit out of Seattle, Wash., provided the spark for both victories with four 3-pointers in each contest and tied a career-high with three steals against the Broncos, including the defensive swipe that led to the game-winning possession when the Bulldogs erased a 10-point deficit with 10:41 to play and 7-point deficit with 5:10 to go. The effort lifted Fresno State to an early 1-0 mark in WAC play. On the week, Ladd averaged 15.0 points, 4.5 rebounds and 1.5 steals on 30.0 minutes per game. He also recorded an assist, one block and zero turnovers in the two key victories. In the past four home games, Ladd has averaged four 3-pointers per contest at a 59 percent clip.
