Freshman Latrisha Jordan won the individual WAC Championship in the 400-meter hurdles and led the Bulldogs to the 4x400 relay title. In addition to the conference titles, Jordan was named the Women's WAC Freshman of the Year. After taking a tumble in the preliminaries of the 400 hurdles Friday, Jordan dominated the finals with a record-breaking 58.36. The freshman trumped the Fresno State record she set earlier this season by .12 seconds and only out-ran the second-place finisher by more than a second and a half. Jordan also anchored the 4x400 relay, the meet's final event. When Jordan received the baton, Fresno State was 15 meters back of first-place. The Bulldog ran down the LA Tech racer to win the race in a time of 3:39.85. Although the team of Vanessa Sautebin, Tiera Hilliard, Janev Morris and Jordan earned an automatic bid to the NCAA Regional as the conference champions, the time easily met the NCAA Regional qualifying standard as well. Jordan also added the open 400 to her list of NCAA Regionally-qualified events, timing a 54.35 over the weekend for fourth place. Other student-athletes nominated were: 2008-09 Athletes of the Week:
